Viva College was established in the year 2000-2001 with affiliation to the University of Mumbai. The College is Accredited with NAAC 'B' Grade, CGPA 2.69. The college is located at a distance of one kilometer from Virar Railway Station.

Viva College Virar was started with an intake of  148 students in 2000-2001 in B.Com. Today, Viva College is functioning with three different disciplines (Arts, Science and Commerce) as well as career-oriented professional courses such as B.Sc. (IT), B.Sc. (Computer Science), B.Sc. Biotechnology, B.Com in Financial Market B.Com in Accounts & Finance, B.Com in Banking & Insurance and Hotel Management (BHTMS), BMM, BMS(Bachelor Of Management Studies), etc. VIVA IMS, the Trust now offers courses in the field of Master of Management Studies (MMS), PG degree, as well as Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), a degree in different branches. The Trust also operates College of Architecture, Fine Arts, Pharmacy and M.C.A. too.  Viva College Admission process will be online on the merit basis of the result in the Board / University / Entrance Test, Whichever is applicable.

• The VIVA Library was set up in the year 2000 to meet the informative needs of students and staff. An Academic Library is genuinely a learning focus, which plans to serve the requirements of exploring researchers and students. A well prepared managed library is the establishment of the current training framework. The library is isolated into five significant segments which are Library Stacking Area, Reading Hall, Reference Section, Digital Library and Circulation and Technical Section.

• The College has a research and development team which is mainly focus in the field of Soil Water analysis, Plant tissue culture, Herbal drug analysis, Pharmaceutical drug analysis, Microbiological testing, Molecular Biology. The laboratory focuses on creating a research-oriented attitude in the minds of students. The' VIVA Centre for Advanced Research & Development ' was established in 8th January 2013 by Dr Sunita Shailajan, in charge of F13 Herbal Research Lab. and Associate Professor, Dept. Of Botany, Ruia college.

• There is a virtual lab for the students which Conducts workshops for students of the First Year, Second Year & Third Year botany, Biotechnology, Biochemistry & Zoology. Workshops are also conducted for Postgraduate students of Biotechnology, Bioanalytical Sciences, Herbal Sciences & Environmental Sciences. Students can register on the virtual lab portal using their Gmail ID.
