SRM Valliammai Engineering College, an autonomous institution was established in 1999. SRM VEC is situated in an extent of 13.5 acres and is by the side of NH 45, between Tambaram and Chengalpattu. The SRM VEC is a part of the SRM Group of Educational Institutions, sponsored by the Valliammai Society. The Valliammai Society was founded by Dr.T.R.Paarivendhar, a well-known educationist, in the name of his mother Tmt. R.Valliammai, under whose care and guidance he attained greater heights in his personal development and whose ideals continue to inspire him.

The college currently offers 9 UG courses and 7 PG courses. SRMVEC has highly qualified, dynamic and dedicated renowned faculty both from academic and industrial backgrounds. Besides, the students bring honour to the college by securing university ranks. The college functions from a multi-storey building complex of 59,000 square meters to accommodate the demands of ever-increasing numbers of students. The campus houses fully furnished laboratories, classrooms, drawing halls, conference halls, offices for HODs, staff rooms, seminar halls, department libraries and other facilities as per ‘AICTE Norms and Standards’. Valliammai College of Engineering Eligibility Criteria:

VEC has a detailed explanation of the eligibility for the UG and PG programs for the candidates referenced who are interested to apply. 

Valliammai College of Engineering Admission:

The Valliammai College of Engineering admits prospective students to all its offered programs only on a merit basis and cash will not be accepted under any circumstances. The candidates for admission to the first semester of the master’s degree programme shall be required to have passed an appropriate U.G degree examination of Anna University or any other examination of any University or authority accepted by the Syndicate of Anna University as equivalent thereto.

Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the common entrance examination (TANCET) conducted by the state and selected candidates are allotted to various colleges for admission. Details regarding the entrance examination are published in the newspapers well in advance every year. Candidates may also appear directly for admission to the college under Management Quota. Appearing for the entrance examination for these seats is a must and this entrance examination is conducted by the college on its campus. Admission forms may be obtained from the Admission office.

Valliammai College of Engineering Hostel:

The college has hostel facilities for students who reside far from the college or from other states. There are two separate hostels for boys and girls students accommodating about 1200 students. All the hostels have necessary infrastructures such as Wi-Fi Internet Connection, T.V Hall, CCTV Surveillance Camera and modern kitchen. The inmates are provided with a cot, a chair and a table.
