The eligibility criteria for this course are graduation with 12 years of regular education. The admission procedure was I had to apply online, then there was an interview. The college will be the selection based on your interview round.
There is no mandatory entrance exam for this course.
The typical cutoff for the course is 50% or more marks in graduation.
No candidate are eligible for admission after a lapse of more than three years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination. The year of admission would not be taken into account while calculating 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination. Aggregate is calculated with 4 subjects at +2 level including the compulsory subjects as indicated in the eligibility criteria for application and the subjects having the maximum marks from the rest of the subjects.
The student must have passed in all the papers as per the respective board/council pass marks.
The student must have obtained 45% marks in each of the 4 subjects included in the aggregate calculation.
Marks in all subjects indicated in the +2 level marksheet must be entered in the application form.
Students have to pass a +2 exam of any board.
I completed my +2 level from State Board (i.e. WBHSC) and secured a percentage of 87.25% in best of 4 subjects.
Usually the cutoff to get selected in the College is around 85%.
Entrance exam of my College/University was not based on marks you get but you should achieve the eligibility criteria. Mathematics is not compulsory to get into this University which is an advantage for students who didn't have maths in their +2. For my course BMS I had to take my entrance test based on class 10 Mathematics and Logical Reasoning and also English.
St Xavier's college is a prestigious institution of Calcutta. Generally, the eligibility criteria for the course I took is that the student must have studied maths and English. The college does not have any entrance exam for this course. The general cut off for my department varies from 96% to 94% including maths and English.
The eligibility criteria was based on 10+2 result which should be above 65% and in CGPA, it should be above 6.4. Examination procedure was held before the examination procedure. It was based on literature mainly, but there was logical reasoning as well. Before the entrance examination one has to secure a minimum CGPA of 6.4.
About the BMS course candidate have to give an entrance exam which comprises of 50 marks and to get your exam marks, as well as entrance exam marks, both will be considered while admission. The cutoff in the entrance is 44 marks if one can manage to get that marks then can expect to get admitted into this college.
There is no cutoff system to get admission in St. Xavier's college. It takes admission on the basis of 12th standard percentage. There is no entrance exam taken by this college. The Christian community can get admission easily because this college gives priority to them.
