St. Francis College was started in 1959 at Secunderabad with the purpose to help students develop morally and intellectually. St. Francis Degree College is a women’s college that empowers and educates girls.  St. Francis Degree College has an "A" grade accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council [NAAC] and it is recognized by UGC. St. Francis College for Women campus has an area of 8 acres which is spread in the heart of twin cities Hyderabad and Secunderabad. St. Francis College for women started its journey with 15 students and now has a capacity of more than 3000.

St. Francis Degree College also has a staff strength of 117 teachers along with 104 non-teaching staff. St. Francis College Secunderabad develops the skills and makes the students intellectually competent, socially committed, morally upright, and spiritually inspirational.  The St. Francis College for women was accorded the status of ‘College with Potential for Excellence’ by the UGC in 2004. SFC College has an environment club called PRAKRITI, which organizes the events regarding environmental issues.
