Shri Vaishnav Institute of Technology & Science, [SVITS] Indore was established in the year 1995 by Shri Vaishnav Shekshanik and Parmarthik Trust. The institute is an ISO 9001:2008 certified college. It is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Technical Univerisity and Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya. It is approved by the All India Council For Technical Education [AICTE] and Govt. of Madhya Pradesh and it is accredited by the NBA. It offers courses in the field of Engineering and Management. SVITS Indore Admissions are based on the past academic merit and scores in qualifying examinations.

The institution has grown as a major academic institution in the country with more than 1200 candidates and advanced engineering programs approved by AICTE. SVITS encourages candidates to explore their latent talents by providing good games and sports facilities. The college has well built separate blocks to house each department. The institute consists of spacious & well-ventilated classrooms, staff rooms, and other amenities. Currently, the construction of three separate new blocks for Mechanical, Civil & Textile Engg is going on along with the expansion of the EEE block.

• The Textile Technology department has achieved NBA Accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation consecutively in the years 2006 and 2011.
• The Department of Textile Technology has also organized the Nation Textile Summit [NTS – 2013] Aug 30th and 31st 2013 jointly with the Textile Association of India [TAI] inaugurated by Dr. K.S. Rao, Minister of Textiles Govt of India.
• The Textile Department is having a track record of 100% placement continuously in the years 2011-15.
• Lectra software was included in the curriculum of the final year syllabus under the Advanced CAD in the Textile department.
• Meeting of BoS in August 2014.
• The Department of Textile Technology has imparted training to the candidates of SDPS Women College, Indore on CAD in Textile and Textile Testing.
• The Textile Department has conducted an Exam of A.T.A/G.M.T.An of TAI.
• The Department of Textile Technology has submitted a proposal of the Centre of Excellence to the Textile Commissioner Office at Mumbai.

• The Department has the Remote Centre of IIT Bombay and the Remote Centre name is SVITS-RC and Remote Centre ID is 1117. IIT Bombay organizes different training, Research programs & workshops at their Remote Centre.
• IIT-Bombay has organized 9 workshops at SVITS-RC in association with Computer Science & Engineering Department to date and the entire workshop and Training program has been done by video conferencing through the Internet by IIT-Bombay.
• The Department of Computer Science has also been involved in the Aakash Research Program of IIT-Bombay in this program, they have got 42 Aakash – II Tablets for Faculty.

• Civil Engineering Department has conducted the One Week student development program “Computer-Aided Analysis and Design of Structures [CAADS]” from 08 October 2018 to 12 October 2018.  
• Civil Engineering Department has organized National Poster Design Contest “RACHNAAND” on 14 September 2018.  
• A technical visit to “Trenching Ground at Devguradia Indore” has been organized for B.Tech 2nd-year candidates on 28 September 2018.  
• Civil Department has organized a field visit to “M.P. Police Housing Board” for B.Tech 3rd-Year and M.Tech 1st-year candidates on 01 September 2018.  
• An expert lecture over “Design of Steel Structures” has been delivered by Mr. Dushyant Meena, Ex. Class one gazette officer, Ministry of shipping.  
• Two days of faculty development program on “Advancements and Recent Developments in Civil Engineering” has been organized on 24 and 25 January 2018.  
• An industrial visit to “AKVN NATRIP, Pithampur” has been organized for B.Tech 3rd-year candidates on 14 March 2018.  
• One day workshop on "Utilization of Civil Engineering. Software & Recent Advancement in Concrete" has been organized for UG and PG candidates 07 February 2018.  
• A technical visit to “SVVV construction site Indore” has been organized for B.Tech 2nd Year candidates on 03 October 2018.
