RMK Engineering College, [RMKEC] Thiruvallur was founded by Thiru. R. S. Munirathinam and it was established in the year 1995. It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. It is approved by the NBA and AICTE. RMKEC is accredited by NAAC.

It facilitates education in Engineering and its allied fields, at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. RMKEC admission can be done online by visiting the official website or visiting the admission office on the campus

The campus is spread over 60 acres of beautiful green environment, The entire campus has a collection of ornamental plants and huge trees on the Campus. The college was awarded by the Rotary Club of Chennai as the Most Green & Clean Campus in the year 2003. The college is surrounded by greenery and this gives pollution-free ambiance which has been conducive to a good educational ambiance.

Library:

RMKEC Central Library is located in Swaminadha Naidu Block. RMKEC has an ultra-modern Library as well as it is the fully air-conditioned library with a huge collection of books and an Information Centre. The Library and Information Center is a separate reading and reference section to service the Undergraduate and Postgraduate students, staff members, and research scholars.

Computer Center:

RMK Engineering College Computer Centre, which gives a central facility and provides competitive support to the user community consisting of students, faculty, research staff, and office staff for academic and office automation purposes. The computer center with a built-up in a large area is located in the Swaminatha Naidu Block with more than 1300 computers to afford computing facilities and Internet services. The working environment is open and it facilitates smooth functioning of the center and effective utilization of the resources.

Gymnasium:

RMKEC Gymnasium is a well-equipped with power gym and hydraulic gym (Air Conditioned) with the latest multiple machines. These gyms of RMKEC could accommodate 100 Students per session. Each session will be engaged by experienced trainers.

The RMKEC provides various infrastructure facilities that have comprehensive hostel facilities for the students. RMKEC facilities include separate hostel facilities like three blocks are provided for men, accommodating more than 1000 students. The boy's hostel provides a separate library, reading room, shuttle courts, and a shop to help the students. The college also provides a separate hostel for women. Three blocks for women for 400 students this facility will be provided with food accommodation. The girl's hostel has Shuttle courts, Table tennis, and a shop to facilitate the students.
