Q.

Scholarship in Punjabi University

Asked By: Anonymous 23 May 2016

A.

Hi Prateek,

STUDENTS SCHOLARSHIPS:

The cost of University education has undergone a significant increase in the past decade. The State has raised the tuition fee on the one side and reduced the University grant from 74 percent to 45 percent recently. The students belonging to the disadvantaged groups are thus unable to join the professional courses for want of resources. Such students need help from benevolent Alumni. The accounts of scholarships will be transparent and open to scrutiny by the donors. The donors can also be associated with the selection process of the Scheme. The recipients, students are expected to make a life time contribution of one percent of their salary to this scheme after their placement.

All donations made to Punjabi University, Patiala are exempted from the payment of Income Tax under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.

 Thank You.
