The students in the institution believe that the semester exams are comparatively tricky, depending on the preparation of the students. For example, if a student works hard, then the difficulty of exams becomes moderate, where the pass percentage comes to 85%; else, the pass percentage is around 50-60%. 

Highly-Maintained Infrastructure

Pondicherry University has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities, and equipment that a good institution needs to provide for students. There are facilities which are very well-maintained like intelligent boards, classrooms, libraries, laboratories, sports centres and hostels. The institution also offers free Wi-Fi for all the students on the campus.

The classrooms at Pondicherry University are pretty congested for most candidates studying there. Other than that, the classrooms are well-maintained and clean, and all amenities like chairs, tables, smart boards, and boards have been provided.

The labs in Pondicherry University are also well-maintained, providing proper equipment for each department. The students have complained recently that the devices used in laboratories do not work sometimes.

In the library of Pondicherry University, the institution has provided all types of books for all subjects for the reference purposes of the students. The university updates the library weekly with editorials, books, and magazines. The students can borrow books from two libraries, the common library, and the department library. In total, all the libraries combined contain nearly 6000 books.

The canteen of Pondicherry University is hygienic and provides a variety of foods at an affordable price for the students studying here. The students have also reported that the canteen service is up to the mark and the quality of food sold here is excellent and tasty. The only drawback of the canteen facilities in the university is that the infrastructure is not that good.

Attendance Policy 

At Pondicherry University, the students have to regularly maintain attendance, as it is a significant aspect in the course of the student's academic journey. A 70% attendance of a student for each system must be maintained as the candidate needs to qualify for the end-semester examination.

In case the attendance of a student in the institution falls to 6%, the candidates can adjust with the submission of a valid medical certificate, which the respective professor must approve of that course. While some professors may not be lenient in this regard, the students at Pondicherry University must have a valid reason for any attendance below 65% to avoid future complications.

Sports

In terms of sports facilities at Pondicherry University, the administration has not developed a lot of facilities for the students. The institution conducts annual sports events in the university, but it does not have a variety of grounds dedicated to each type of sport on the campus.

The institution has  numerous clubs  related to different interests, including cultural, literary, and electrical subjects. These clubs, under the university, organise a range of activities for the students like games, quizzes, and conferences, and ensure to provide students with enriching experiences.

Satisfactory Hostel

The hostel facility of Pondicherry University is very satisfactory for the students. The university has two buildings as a hostel; one is for boys and one for girls. The university’s hostel has good security, and multiple CCTV cameras monitor the entire hostel campus. The room facilities in the hostels for both genders are excellent. The institution has provided students with the option of two students sharing one room, that is, double occupancy rooms.

Impressive Job Placement Rates

The placement scenario at Pondicherry University is highly commendable. The placement cell of Pondicherry University conducts training sessions for the students every week at the beginning of the second year to develop their industrial skills, which will increase their chances of employment.

As per the recent trends, the renowned companies of India have recently conducted massive on-campus placement drives and have offered worthwhile packages. In the previous year, it has been seen that the overall placement rates of the students of all departments were around 70-80%.

The unique industrial and interview training conducted at the university helps the students choose their careers and shortlist the correct internship and job opportunities relevant to their skills and roles. Due to this, the students could bag a good salary package during the interviews and shortlisting.
