1.There are around 8 hostels for Girls and 12 hostels for Boys. The P.hd Scholars stay at Separate hostel.
2.There are no such private provision of PGs as the hostels are enough to accomodate students. however if one wants to stay in PG then it's farer than Campus and they mostly charge 1000 per month without food.
3. I don't like the Hostel Mess food, yea it is apparent that we can't have the home made cusine taste in mess food. The Mess cooks don't use much of oil and spice which make the meals tasteless but there is no health hazard because of Mess Food. The cost per day is Rs. 65 which includes meals of Breakfast, Launch, Snakes in the evening and Dinner at night.
There are 6 hostels for girls and 13 hostels for boys. The food in the hostel is average. There are no hostel fees for girl students. The fee in the mess is Rs.65/ day. Labs have all new equipment and there's WiFi connection all over the campus.
*8 hotels are there. I spend INR 6800 for hostel fee INR 4000 Good and its cost INR 3800 Quality of infrastructure is good
We have good hostel facility. PG's and houses for rent are available near the campus. It costs INR 2000 to 4000 per month. The college food is good, but it is mainly south Indian meals.
Infrastructure of the university
The main campus of the University has an area of 800 acres spread on either side of the East Coast Road with the large chunk on the landward side of the road. The land is an invaluable gift from the people and the Government of Puducherry for the establishment of the University. The land gently rolls down to the beaches and is interspersed with lovely woods.
Cut by a picturesque and deep ravine, this idyllic campus is on the fast track to developing into an ideal ground for innovation and creativity. The University has also PG Centres at Karaikal and Port Blair, Karaikal Centre currently offers three PG programmes.
Port Blair Centre offers two PG programmes and two PhD programmes. The university has entered into MoUs with a good number of reputed international institutions in India and abroad for collaboration and faculty development.
There are 17 hostels in the campus, 11 for men, 5 for women students/research scholars and 1 for foreign students. The hostel administration is headed by the Chief Warden and his team of wardens and its office is located in the Maulana Azad Hostel.
The caution deposit of Rs.3000/- (for Indian nationals) and Rs.6000/- (for foreign nationals) is to be paid while joining the hostel. This will be refunded after vacating the hostel by means of account transfer/account payee cheque subject to surrender of original challan, after deducting dues if any. The open cheque will not be issued under any circumstances. Therefore students must necessarily open a bank account.
A branch of Indian Bank that provides Core Banking Services (CBS) operates on the main University Campus. Its ATM facility is also available on the campus and is situated near the Security Gate I. Payment of all types of fees by the students should be made through bank only.
