PDPU Placement Details

Placements & Internships : We have had a rural and a social service internship after 1st year. The remaining of the internships will be at the end of 2nd, 3rd and during 4th year respectively. Few of the companies that visit our campus are Reliance, TCS, ONGC, Infosys, Jubilant foodworks, and more. Average salary per annum offered is 3 lakhs and the highest salary offered is 18 lakhs(INR) per annum. In petroleum department, the placement percent is maximum. In other depts, around 20-30 percent of the batch gets placed. Frankly, I do not know about alumni network.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The minimum requirement to apply for an admission in Btech course, SOT, PDPU is student must have cleared grade 12 board examinations with a minimum of 45 percentage in Physics, Maths and Science. A student must have appeared in JEE MAIN. Later on, the student shall fill the 3 forms available for admission. Admission on the basis of ACPC rank form. Admission based on All India Rank form. Admission based on NRI quota form. All the three forms are chargeable. After applying for admission by filling these forms, you get a merit rank in each category respectively and counseling is conducted. I appeared for JEE MAIN entrance examinations. The cutoffs for the course vary every year. During my admission, the cutoff was around 2000 rank in the first round of counseling in acpc quota. But the cutoff reduces due to the cancellation of admission and sliding process takes place. The cutoff must have reached around 7000 acpc ranks.

Fees & Scholarships : The fees for BTech course is 2.25(INR) lakhs per year. Students having family income less than 6 (INR) lakhs per annum get a scholarship. Students who excel in academics also have an option for getting a scholarship. Around 25-30% of the students get scholarship under govt scheme. I have not taken any education loan. So, I don't know about it.

Academics & Faculty : The classes start from 9 am and extend upto 5 pm. The faculties are regular in conducting the lectures and labs. Projects are given based on the type of course undertaken. 2 exams are conducted in each sem mid sem and end sem. Assignments are given on regular basis so that a student can grasp whatever is taught in the class. The quality of teaching is really good. There are around 21 labs in mechanical dept. And out of 21 faculties in mech dept, 16 have a Ph.D. degree and remaining 5 are pursuing Ph.D. The overall experience till date has been pleasant.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are 3 hostels near pdpu. Two of them are owned by the pdpu itself and the third one is private. The hostels have a fabulous infrastructure. There is internet available 365*24. The rooms are also very good and they are cleaned daily by an agency. Hostels provide facilities of night canteen, gym, tv room, hot water, mineral water, table tennis, etc. The hostel charges are Rs72000(INR) per year. PG option is also readily available in a radius of 2 km around the college. The pg charges are 1500-2000 per month. The mess facility is compulsory for the hostelites. The classrooms have a very good interior. Each classroom and lab has a projector and computer fitted with speaker and mic. Wifi is available throughout the campus. A library is also excellent.

Clubs & Associations : There are more than 15 to 20 clubs and societies in. BRAHMAND, MIND-RIPPLE, AVIONICS, ESPA, KAIZEN, BAJA, PUNNERVA-YOGA, VELOSO, SOUTH BLOCK, and a lot more. There are two key fests each year. Flare is the annual fest. Tesseract is the technical fest. The annual sports fest is the largest in the Gujarat- PETROCUP. Other fests are held during different parts of the year. Life is really good and I enjoy being at pdpu.
