Literature club named 'Kishalaya' brings every year their annual magazine named 'Nildarpan'.
Every year in the winter there occur several sports in the playground like cricket, football, volley, badminton.
The annual festival named Ecstasy, one of the famous festivals in Kolkata is the center of all attractions in our college, where all pupils of the college engage themselves with a total experience of fun and merriment with several dances, music programs, quiz competitions debate competition and much more.
Great artists come here to sing in this festival.
Overall, it is totally a pleasant atmosphere exists all time.
A student can get all freedom of life to be a perfect man and learn the proper way to serve the society.
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
One of the greatest medical colleges of West Bengal is Nil Ratan Sarkar Medical College and Hospital, [NRSMCAH] Kolkata has to good faculties in various branches of medical sciences like Hematology, Nephrology, Cardiology, Neurology, Skin, etc and they serve to the people quite well.
NRSMCH provides the both MBBS and MD, to get entry into bachelor medical science, one has to qualify the joint entrance examination organised by WBJEE Board or AIPMT exam, as it is one of the top class medical college, rank in those qualifying examination should be better enough (WBJEE- within 500, AIPMT-within 2000).
This college has very good faculties in all departments of medical sciences and the atmosphere is quite overwhelming inside the colleges, having green all round, playground, food ball and all basic amenities that one needs.
Placements & Internships :
As it is a medical college there is no need of such company placements, after 4 years there is an internship of one year.
This one year one gets a stipend of Rs. 20,000.
Fees & Scholarships :
Course fee in Nil Ratan Sarkar Medical College and Hospital, [NRSMCAH] Kolkata is very less, two semesters individually costs about Rs. 5000 per year.
Scholarships are available like West Bengal state scholarship for the reserved categories students, obc students. Students about 40-50 of every batch of 250 get the scholarship every year.
As the semester fees are not too much so one usually needs not take a loan money, but with the food costs and other surrounding costs are not too easy to bear for a poor student. Bank loan are not available in that case easily.
Academics & Faculty :
Medical studies is always a tougher than other so the class timings, examination, projects, assignments are always hunting us behind.
In Nil Ratan Sarkar Medical College and Hospital, [NRSMCAH] Kolkata Class starts from 8:00 am and continue up to 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm, and one has to regularly attend the classes with their assignments, practical copies, projects ready always.
There are two semesters each year and a final professional examination after the end of the year, also several internal examinations occurs every week and one student has to be prepared always for giving examinations.
The teachers are quite good here and they teach exceptionally well to us to make everyone ready for the struggle of the life.
They always help us to make us understood every individual topics with their good efforts.
Experience is totally awesome in our college.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
There are 3 hostels inside the Nil Ratan Sarkar Medical College and Hospital, [NRSMCAH] Kolkata, and these are too large and space(one Boys hostel for undergraduate, one ladies hostel for undergraduate, and a hostel for postgraduate and junior resident).
Hostel fees are not too much here, only food cost has to be paid by students.
About Rs. 5000 per month spent for this purpose for accommodation and feeding.
PG and accommodations are available in seal day area, they cost about Rs. 10,000 per month.
Foods inside the college are available always, there are total 10-12 canteens available for the students, and the food is not too good but they are satisfactory,
Per meal one have to spend about Rs.40.
The infrastructure is outstanding.
Wifi is not available there totally, but departmental wifi is available.
Library is one of the main attraction of our college, a huge collection of medical books compensate the demand of so many students every day, and there are a reading room and consultancy room in the library and can accommodate about 1000 people altogether, they are all air conditioned and clean always.
