NPTI Admission

National Power Training Institute is an organization under the Ministry of Power. Its aim is to function as a national organization for training in the field of electrical energy systems. It acts as an apex body for initiating and coordinating training programs in the power sector of the country. There are 10 regional institutes set up in the country. The corporate office of NPTI is located in Faridabad (Haryana), and the regional institutes are located at Neyveli (Tamilnadu), Badarpur (New Delhi), Nagpur (Maharashtra), Guwahati (Assam), Nangal (Punjab), Faridabad (Haryana), Alappuzha (Kerala), Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh), Durgapur (West Bengal), and Bengaluru (Karnataka). NPTI Durgapur campus is one of the oldest of the regional institutes and was established in 1968. It plays an important role in the field of human resource development in the power sector as a leading Institute in the Eastern Region.

Admission to this course is open through WBJEE/ AIEEE. The candidates to this program should have passed the HSC exam of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education with English, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. They should also qualify in the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the West Bengal Board of Examination or the All India Engineering Entrance Examination. The candidates should be of good health, with no abnormalities of the heart, lungs, or vision.

The admission is done through the WBJEE exam that is the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. The cut off was pretty good, last general candidate who got admission through WBJEE had to rank something about 7k but in spot counseling, it went 30k.
