The process for admissions at National Institute of Technology, Srinagar as mentioned in the official website is based on the performance of the candidates in the JEE entrance exam which will be conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Admission Process at NIT Srinagar will be done based on the marks obtained by the students in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE).

A candidate who needs admissions at National Institute of Technology, Srinagar for B.Tech course should have to go through JEE entrance exam.
JEE is an entrance exam which will be conducted by Central Seat Allocation Board.
And the candidate should have secured a minimum of 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards.
For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.

Applicants should have Passed a Bachelor degree (4 years after 10+2 or 3-years after Diploma in Engineering/Technology) in Engineering/ Technology or currently in the final year of the degree.
The eligibility criteria for admission in NIT is that we have to clear JEE MAINS exam. According to marks, the college will be allotted, then we have to report in college till the deadline of admission. I cleared JEE mains exam to get admission in Nit. The typical cutoff was around 30000 rank in general category.
We have to pass jee mains( national level exam) than during counselling we have to select the nit Srinagar. If your rank is eligible for this college then you will be selected. For CSE, it is 20k rank for non-local.
