I'm pursuing B-tech in Civil Engineering from NIT Patna. For admission to B-tech in NITS, you have to qualify JEE MAIN exam with a good rank for better Nits. I secured 31347 Rank in General Category and got a seat in Nit Patna. After qualifying the exam you have to go through Counselling process , in which you have to fill choices (fill up the branch you want of the upper ranking NITs or IITs or GFTs according to your rank & don't forget to check previous year opening and closing rank onJEE MAIN websites, it'll give you an idea about the College which comes under your rank).
Eligible candidates are those who abide by jee main rules. All those who satisfy those conditions are eligible and hence have to qualify for the entrance exam. I qualified for my JEE MAIN exam. The cutoff changes every year on the basis of difficulty.
