The NISER scholarships are offered to students based on caste, socioeconomic status, and merit. DST Inspire Scholarship: Under the NISER scholarship 2023, students are awarded the DST Inspire scholarship based on their merit and exemplary performance in science. M.Sc students of the National Institute of Science Education and Research are awarded an amount of INR 5000 as a scholarship amount.
In addition, the KVPY or the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is a part of the DST Inspire Scholarship programme from 2022, and the NISER scholarships are awarded following the guidelines of the Inspire scholarship.
DISHA Scholarship: Students can avail of either the INSPIRE or the DISHA scholarship in NISER Bhubaneswar. The DISHA scholarship is for students who pursue Integrated MSc courses at NISER. Students receive an amount of INR 60,000 per annum as a NISER scholarship and INR 20,000 per annum as a mentorship or contingency grant. In addition, students must pass all their courses and maintain a CGPA of 6 or above to renew their scholarships. Failing to follow any of the above regulations NISER sets can lead to discontinuing the scholarship programme.
Mentorship Grant: NISER Bhubaneswar scholarships include mentorship grants wherein students must execute and complete a project under a Research Supervisor from any recognized university or college. This project is done during the summer vacations, and on successful completion, the grant amount is paid to the scholar or the institute where the project has been completed. In addition, the student also receives all medical, travel, and accommodation reimbursements.
SC/ST Scholarships: The college provides financial assistance to students from the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe. The NISER scholarships are awarded post-matriculation to encourage reserved-category students to pursue higher education.
