About NAM College, [NAMC] Kannur

N.A.M College Kallikkandy, a Muslim minority institution, was founded by the Muslim Educational Foundation, Panoor, in 1995, with the primary objective of providing university eduaction for derserving students irrespective of caste and creed. It is a government aided college, affiliated to Kannur University, which lies on a lovely hillock near Kallikkandy town, 8kms away from Panoor and 20kms from Thalassery. 

The aim of the college is to educate young men and women  to play a vital role in bringing about desired changes for the betterment of the people of the country. The college fosters an atmosphere of intellectual vigour and moral rectitude for the academic enhancemnt and over all personality development of the youth.

Aided Admission :-

 Application for admission to various courses should be made in the prescribed form. Application form and prospectus can be had from the college office on payment of Rs.50/-in cash. The duly filled in application should be submitted at the college office within the prescribed time and date.The name and address of the students in full are to be written correctly on all the cards provided with the application form.

 The list of selected candidates will be exhibited on the college Notice Board. It is the duty of the candidates to verify whether they are selected and to ascertain the date and time of interview. Representation for admission based on late receipt or non-receipt of interview cards will not be entertained.

Candidates should produce the following documents at the time of interview.

  • Secondary School Leaving Certificate
  • Secondary School Leaving Certificate
  • The mark List of Plus Two or equivalent examination.
  • Transfer and Conduct Certificates from the institution last attended.
  • Three Passport size Photographs.
  • Proficiency Certificate, if any, in Sports/Games /NSS/ Illiteracy Eradication Programme.
  • In the case of those who are eligible for fee concession, the Income, Nativity and Community Certificate from the village officer concerned.
  • In the case of Ex-servicemen and their dependants certificate from the competent authority.
  • In the case of SC and ST students they have to produce Community and Nativity Certificates from the Tahsildar.

Facilities :-

Library

The College offers one of the best libraries in the North Kerala.  It has a valuable collection books and periodicals.  Access to e-resources has been provided by the Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) Centre of UGC.

The college follows a centralised library system. Besides reference facilities have been arranged at all the major departments.  Books, which are required for immediate references, are only available in the department collection.

The campus has a well-established training and placement cell for proving the job opportunity to the eligible students. Campus invites many reputed recruiters every year for the campus recruitment.


Scholarships :-

The Government of India and Kerala awards a number of scholarships every year to students belonging to the backward classes. Students of the college are eligible also for Merit Scholarships awarded by the Government of India and the University.The scholarships are awarded on Merit cum means basis subject to the number allotted each year.
