There is a placement cell in the college which remains quite active throughout the year. This cell makes sure that notices regarding internships and placement drives are well circulated in the campus. This year a number of companies like Amazon and Tommy Hilfiger were on the campus for hiring students. They offered a salary ofINR 15,000-INR 20,000 per month which isn't bad for a fresh graduate. However, only a few, say 10% students got hired for these companies. The rest of the students had to settle for the call center job offers.
I have not done any internship. Companies that related to marketing, finance come for the placements. Average salary package will be around INR 3 LPA to 4 LPA.
Workshops are organized from time to time for exposure of students to practical knowledge. Many companies such as Infosys, Concentrix and many other come for placements and a job fest is organized per year.
I am doing my final year and our college provides you with the internship letter, but it's not compulsory to do the internship. Job Fest is conducted every year where many companies hire students from our college.
There's a job fest in the college which takes place every year. Different companies participate and there's a placement cell in the college also, a lot of my batchmates got placed last year. One of my friends got placed with the package of INR 3.15 lakh per annum.
An average of INR 15 lakhs are offered by the placements in the college and are having a great alumni network, consisting of a great connection with all the students passed out.
The College Placement Cell has been making consistent efforts to bring the job-seekers and the job-providers at a common platform. Many corporate giants like Google, Wipro, Dell, IBM-Daksh, Bank of America, HCL have been selecting our students and offering them lucrative jobs every year. The annual Maha Job-fest also makes the students more aware of the current market trends in the dynamic and fast changing global scenario.
The placement cell started its activities with the formation of the 'Youth Career Club' to encourage student participation in career orientation and placement related activities. The placement cell continuously invites organizations to visit its campus and give a pre-placement talk. This provides students an opportunity to learn more about recruiting organiztions and meet some of their key employees. This process makes a powerful impression by exposing students to highly knowledgeable senior executive.
The placement officer of the college maintain regular contact with the University Employment Information and Guidance Bureau, student centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Officials from this bureau visit the college to sensitize students about career options and employment opportunities.
