All PCs are properly powered by international branded very high range online DSP UPS and high end Server packed machines such as IBM Multicore /Multiprocessor,SAN,IBM NAS,IBM NAS,IBM AMD Opteron,IBM e-server,IBM X-series .these high-end computers provides the solution for the database,Application based web server,FTP Server DNS,NFS,Gateway.Four ELX Power servers 2.0,ELX VMW, Sun Solaris Applications to cater the actual needs of the student & staffs. 

4Mbps OFC Leased line (BSNL) and 16 Mbps Broadband link internet facilities is provided for all the students and staffs.The Students are exposed to present their papers on various technical topics in different institutions in india and abroad.The Students are allowed to gain knowledge on Hardware maintenance ,Troubleshooting,AUTOCAD,MATLAB,XML and J2EE, .net platform,Web designing and many more.

Hostel

This is a well known fact that only healthy minds can produce healthy ideas and healthy innovations to the society. To attain a healthy mind, healthy learning and living environments are really essential. The institute offers quality living standards in separate hostels for boys and girls that are well equipped with all the essential amenities required for a comfortable and healthy living. Library acts as the spine of any educational institution. Well stocked library with adequate reading material defines the academic qualities and level of learning in an institution. More the reading material available better will be the academic results of students. Availability of multiple text and reference books on any subject opens the doors of opportunities for students to explore more reading material and attain better understanding of concepts described by various subject experts. Being the Best Institute of Engineering in Bhubaneswar and the Best Management College Bhubaneswar, KIST has set up one of the biggest libraries among the Top Engineering Colleges in Bhubaneswar. The library of KIST has a wide range of reading materials which include magazines, books, newspapers, journals and digital media. The library at KIST is the house of more than 31,000 volumes, 60 journals and 12 newspapers and 25 magazines related to technical trends, general knowledge and articles from reputed authors. To ensure adequate copies available to every student, KIST library arranges multiple copies of most titles that are recommended by the subject experts or demanded by the students. Each students is allowed to issue 6 books so that they do not need to spend money on purchasing the reading material.

The venue is established over an area of 6800 sq. fts. and is fully air conditioned to provide a comfortable study environment. A photocopying machine is also available which facilitates students and faculty to take important topics with them without having the need to borrow book every time. Reading material is also available as digital media in the form of CD-ROMs, online databases, books, journals, etc. Using online Public Access portal (OPAC), students can search for the available books and other reading assets from LAN based computer systems provided within the library.

The processes of this central library are controlled and facilitated by the commercial library database management software titles LIBSYS. The library is also a member of INDEST-AICTE Consortium that provides access to around 294 IEEE and ASME journals. The central library of KIST is also a member of DELNET for Inter Library loan facilities and has a license from National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) that provides around 130 Video courses presented by the experience professors of IIT and IISC.
