The University of Kalyani was founded in the year 1960. The University is recognized as UGC. The mission of the Advancement of Learning and Research has made the base of administration and qualified faculty strong. The students who are not in the position to get an education, for those students the university and Distance education Council, IGNOU and the other universities have launched Directorate of Open and Distance Learning at Post Graduate level. It will also serve a great help to those students who can't do regular studies of higher courses for different reasons. It also develops confidence in the mind of the students to make them aware and prepare for the different situations to face in the competitive market.
