Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College, [JNEC] Aurangabad was established in 1982. This college is run by Mahatma Gandhi Mission. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education [AICTE] and affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Lonere and.BAMU, Aurangabad. It has received a certificate of excellence from AICTE for innovatively conducting classes for students during the lockdown because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The institute provides technical courses to major undergraduate and postgraduate streams. JNEC admissions are done based on the obtained scores in Maharashtra Common Entrance Examination MHT-CET or JEE Main examination.

(1) Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate
Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects and obtained at least 50 % marks(at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together
Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only)
