IIT Jammu Scholarship Details

Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT] Jammu, offers scholarships to students to pursue their education without any hurdles. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and the financial need of students. To be eligible for the scholarships, candidates must meet the eligibility requirements. More information about the IIT Jammu scholarships are given below.

• Free Messing
• Freeship (Remission of Fee)

Merit-cum-Means: The number of MCM scholarships are limited. Students may apply for any of the above Indian Institute of Technology Jammu scholarships by submitting an application form along with the required documents:

• Form of application (duly filled and signed as per format).
• Student bank account information for scholarship payments.
• Copies of the student's and parents' Aadhaar cards (both).
• Income statement, current family income certificate, and self-declaration on non-judicial stamps of Rupees ten (every time for renewal).
• Caste certificate copy (if applicable).

Free Messing: During each semester, SC and ST students are excused from paying tuition fees. Each semester also includes free messes (only the basic menu) and a pocket allowance of Rs 250/- for each month (only those months in which classes are held will be counted). The following are the remaining eligibility requirements.

• Only SC and ST category students will be eligible for the free messing scholarship.
• The annual household income for the previous financial year shall not exceed Rs. 4.50 lakh.
• For renewal, the minimum SGPA and CGPA must be greater than 6.0, and the backlog of courses must be less than 2.
• A  IIT Jammu student who receives this award is ineligible to receive or apply for any other scholarship from the government, semi-government, institutional, private, or other sources.
• There will be no limit on the number of scholarships awarded under the free messing program (all eligible students are provided with the assistance).

Freeship (Remission of Fee): Economically disadvantaged Students shall be eligible for tuition fee waivers. The following are the remission amount and eligibility requirements.

• Only students in the General, OBC-NCL, and EWS categories shall be eligible for the fee remission scholarship. It shall be given to 10% of surviving General, OBC, and EWS students in each branch for each semester and year.
• Students whose annual household income for the preceding financial year was between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 4.5 lakh are eligible for tuition fee remission.
• For new admissions each year, the student's JEE Advanced rank is considered in calculating merit and scholarship awards.
• The Cumulative Performance Index, CPI (SGPA & CGPA each >=6.0 and with total backlog courses =2) shall be treated as the eligibility condition for existing students. Each semester, the merit list will be generated based on the CGPA and eligibility criteria.
• Students who receive the award are ineligible to receive or apply for any other scholarship from the government, semi-government, institutional, private, or other sources.

Note: However, in extraordinary circumstances where a student wishes to receive a scholarship from both the IIT Jammu and a private source, the student must obtain permission from the institute before receiving any assistance or scholarship from a private source. If the responsible authority approves their request, they will receive funding from another source.
