IIM Calcutta admission 2025 is based on the CAT 2024 exam. The institute offers management courses at the PG level. IIM Calcutta also offers doctorate courses to students. Admission to the programs is based on various academic criteria set by the institute.

MBA, MBAEx, PGDBA and PhD are some of the courses IIM Calcutta admissions are offered. IIM Calcutta's selection process is different for every course. Candidates will be shortlisted for the final selection round based on their performance.

A candidate aspiring for the admission into IIM Calcutta programme must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline as per the requirements of eligibility of the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs. Candidates must also have a valid CAT 2024 score. Once candidates are shortlisted, they are invited to participate in the selection process.

IIM Calcutta MBA Admission 2025

IIM Calcutta offers a two-year MBA course for students. The institute offers courses to train students to become excellent general managers and high-level decision-makers with broad strategic vision.

The eligibility criteria for IIM Calcutta MBA admission in 2025 require a bachelor’s degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories]. The IIM Calcutta MBA fee is INR 27 Lakhs.

For the candidates who have completed an integrated master's or dual degree directly after their 12th/HSC, the percentage of marks obtained as per the college/institution/university which is considered equivalent to the bachelor’s degree will be considered.

During selection, applicants will undergo screening based on the scores in Written Ability Test (WAT), and Personal Interview (PI). The final selection will be determined after the Final Composite Score is drawn, based on parameters like PI, WAT, Academic Diversity at UG and PG levels, and work experience. Based on these parameters IIM Calcutta conducts admissions in three stages. Details about the same are provided below.

Stage I: In Stage I, candidates meeting the minimum requirements on both section-wise and overall percentiles in CAT 2024 will be considered for Stage II. The minimum requirements of CAT percentiles for Stage I are tabulated below.

Stage II: From the candidates satisfying the criteria of Stage I, shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT) based on the composite score derived using the parameters and the corresponding weights as specified in the table below.

IIM Calcutta PGDBA Admission 2025

IIM Calcutta PGDBA admissions are offered to students. The Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics course is jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur and ISI Kolkata. IIM Calcutta PGDBA is a two-year full-time residential diploma programme that aims to create business analytics professionals to lead various Indian and foreign firms. The IIM Calcutta PGDBA application fee is INR 2500 for students from the general category and INR 1250 for students from the reserved category.

The candidates must ensure that they hold a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% from a recognised institute to stand eligible for the admission process. The selection process at IIM Calcutta PGDBA programme includes valid scores in the written test followed by PI. Candidates must ensure that they have a valid score in the written examination. The candidates will be shortlisted for the PI round based on their performance in the written examination.

The institute conducts written examinations in various cities across the country including Bengaluru, Guwahati, Lucknow, Chennai and so on. The interview is conducted in four cities namely, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Mumbai.

IIM Calcutta Executive MBA Admission 2025

IIM Calcutta admissions are offered for the Executive MBA course. The duration of the course is one year. Candidates with more than five years of professional experience are eligible for the IIM Calcutta Executive MBA admissions. 

The courses offer mid-career professionals the ideal platform to augment their existing skill sets as they endeavour to armour themselves for senior and top management roles in the industry.

Details about IIM Calcutta Executive MBA eligibility criteria have been listed below.

  • A bachelor's degree (minimum 10+2+3 years of formal education) or equivalent in any discipline
  • At least 5 years of full-time post qualification managerial/professional experience as of March 31, 2025.
  • Valid GMAT Score (taken within the last 36 months of application date).

The programme fee for the academic year 2024-25 will be Indian Rupees 31,00,000/- (non-refundable) payable in four instalments.

  1. Payment of Indian Rupees 2,00,000/- (commitment fee) at the time of acceptance of the admission offer.
  2. Payment of Indian Rupees 10,00,000/- by 15th March 2024 (second instalment) Furthermore Rs 60,000/- is to be paid as a security deposit by Demand Draft/ Pay order favouring Indian Institute of Management Calcutta along with the second instalment. This amount will be refunded on completion of the programme after necessary adjustments of dues, if any.
  3. Payment of Indian Rupees 10,00,000/- by 21 July 2024 (third installment)
  4. Payment of Indian Rupees 9,00,000/- by 24 November 2024 (fourth instalment)

IIM Calcutta Doctoral Admission 2025

IIM Calcutta offers a full-time doctoral programme that offers students opportunities for advanced studies and research in different specializations related to Management Science. Applicants must hold a first-class master's degree from a recognised institution to qualify for IIM Calcutta PhD admission.

The PhD specialisations for management are as follows - Economics, Finance & Control, Human Resource Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Operations Management, Organisational Behaviour, Public Policy and Management, and Strategic Management.
