IIM Bangalore PhD Eligibility Criteria

IIM Bangalore PhD eligibility criteria for students seeking admission to the institute is a Master's degree in any area (with a bachelor's degree) or an integrated master's degree (10+2+5) with at least 55%. For students with a professional degree such as CA, ICWA or CS, the minimum required percentage is 50% average. Students with a Bachelor's degree who took eight semesters over four years (10+2+4) and had a minimum GPA of 6.5 can also apply for admission. A valid test score appropriate for the speciality and the qualifying exam is also required.

IIM Bangalore PhD Admission

IIM Bangalore admission 2023 to the PhD course is accepted through CAT/ GMAT/ GRE/ GATE/ JRF (NET)/ IIM B Test, academic performance, and work experience. IIMB, however, does not accept scores of online GMAT or GRE taken at home. After applying, based on their subjects, candidates will go through an area test that includes a written test or an interview.

• Applicants can complete an online application for the IIM Bangalore PhD programme by visiting their official website.
• Candidates who choose the GMAT or GRE must submit a copy of their official GMAT results with their application.
• The applicant’s copy should be uploaded with the application on behalf of candidates who have not yet received their official scorecards; nevertheless, they must submit the official scorecard before the interviews.
• When submitting an online application, candidates who choose to take the Common Admission Test (CAT 2022) must include their registration number.
• The IIMB will evaluate the application using the CAT 2022 scores that were provided.
• Candidates who use their GATE or JRF (NET) scores must provide a valid scorecard with their application.
• Candidates should select this option in the application if they intend to take the IIMB Test. IIMB will twice administer the IIMB Test online.
• If an applicant appears more than once, the most recent score (IIMB Test) will be considered for processing.

Entrance Exams

The institute conducts the IIM Bangalore PhD entrance exam, IIM Test, for applicants who o not have valid scores for other entrance exams. These are CAT/ GMAT/ GRE/ GATE or JRF (NET).

IIM Bangalore PhD Fees

The PhD course is a five-year doctoral program offered by the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. Students are exempted from tuition fees and receive a monthly grant of INR 42,000 for 5 years. There is a housing subsidy of INR 20,000 for married students seeking accommodation outside the campus.

A start-up grant of Rs. 75,000 is available to doctorate students in their first year and a contingency grant of Rs. 25,000 yearly from Years 2 to 5. These grants can be used to pay for books, office supplies, computers, and other resources to assist their PhD coursework.
