IIIT Kalyani Infrastructure Details

Infrastructure facilities at Indian Institute of Information Technology, [IIIT] Kalyani:

The college is running on a temporary campus which is at Webel IT Park. The Government of West Bengal has provided 50 acres of land to the college authority for the construction of the new campus. The institute provides various infrastructure facilities on the current campus.

Library:

• The Library of IIIT supports academics in knowledge generation through different educational activities such as teaching and research.
• Books are issued, only if the borrower shows the ID card at the Circulation Desk. So Library users are requested to bring their ID cards while coming to the Library.
• IIIT Kalyani Library holds 4500 books that include newspapers, magazines, and journals.

Labs:

• IIIT Kalyani is equipped with software and hardware labs. There are 3 software and 3 hardware labs.
• The software labs are facilitated with educational software and run by Windows and Linux which improves the scope of learning.
• The Software Labs are equipped with projectors for video conferencing and workshops.
• IIIT has a hardware lab that is well equipped with instruments used for electronics, digital systems, and embedded systems experiments. 

Medical Services:

• The Institute had arranged the medical facilities with the College of Medicine & JNM Hospital, Kalyani.
• Ambulance services with ICU facilities are available for 24 hours on-call basis.

Hostel:

• IIIT provides hostel accommodation for students on a payment basis in rented apartments.  
• There will be separate accommodation provided for boys and girls students.
• The institute has four hostels in which three for boys and one for girls.
• All the IIIT hostels are equipped with WiFi and 24 Hrs security.
• The hostels provide all conveniences like playgrounds, markets, railway stations, and bus stops.
• The hostel provides mess facilities with healthy food.
• A Mess Committee is available to monitor the functioning of the Mess.

Cafeteria:

• IIIT Provides a Cafeteria with different dishes and drinks which is situated inside the campus.

Guest House:

• The Institute has its own guest house.
• It provides accommodation for guest faculty, delegates who come for the seminar, workshop organizers, and parents.

Transport Facility:

• IIIT provides transport facility from the hostel to the campus. 
• The Institute provides the facility for attending seminars and events also.
• The Timings of the facility are flexible according to the timetable. 

Sports:

• The institution encourages its students to participate in the inter-college sports competitions.
• The College has its own sports equipment.
• As the campus is still under construction, the students are advised to play in the town grounds and stadiums.

Network Facility:

• The institution is facilitated with a broadband connection and WiFi connectivity all around the campus.
• For accessing the wifi, students have their individual login id.

Classrooms:

• The Institute has smart classrooms that have the video conferencing facility.
• Faculties can take classes and may interact with the students through video conferencing in the classrooms.
• The classroom can accommodate more than 100 students.
