  • The hostel fee is Rs 10000 per year and mess fees is Rs 26000 per year at HBTI.
  • But due to this one installment deposit system, I took PG.
  • The monthly expenditure is Rs.4000.

Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, HBTU Kanpur (Former HBTI Kanpur) is spread across two campuses, the east campus (77 acres) and the west campus (271 acres) situated about 3 km apart. This institute is affiliated with Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow. The motto of this institute is “Work is Great Austerity”. This university ensures the safety of the students as well as looks after their welfare and requirements.

HBTU Campus Highlights

HBTU is acknowledged for its huge campus and residential facilities in India. Some of the highlighting features of the HBTI campus are listed below.

  • HBTI organises different types of online webinars, international conferences, workshops, seminars, counselling seasons, conferences for the betterment of students.
  • Sports competitions in inter or intra universities are held on the campus or out of the campus.
  • Many motivational speakers and famous personalities are called for the seasons and programmes by the HBTI.
  • There are many clubs associated with HBTI such as debating, dancing, singing, skating, enactment and many more options are available for students who have interests in different areas.
  • Freshers, Convocation, Farewell, Youth festival, Educational Trips and so on are organised by the institute.

HBTU Campus Facilities

The HBTU has a wide radius of alternatives to meet the needs of the students. Some of these are mentioned below.

Classrooms: Well organised and furnished classrooms, as well as digital boards, are installed in every class to make sure a student must have a  better learning experience. 

Library: HBTU has a library named Tagore Library with a total collection of 108578. Fully automated, using integrated library software Libsys, since 2008. The library has an old collection of print journals. Few journals worth its inception, Ex. Chemical Abstract etc.Membership of National Digital library of India (NDLI), hosted by IIT, Kharagpur. Subscription of e-journals through J-Gate which is listed in e-shodhsindhu (under Process). Providing photocopy facility for users for the journals, reference books and magazines etc.

  • Having Spiritual books collection i.e. Vedanta’s, Geeta, and Quran etc.
  • Full-Time Wi-Fi for all users.
  • Computer and internet facility for users with 25 systems.
  • Facilitates a soothing environment for students in Central Library.
  • Online Public access Catalogue (OPAC) as inventory as well as a retrieval tool for the users about our collection in Central Library.
