Giani Zail Singh, Punjab Technical University Campus, Bathinda was the first technical institute established by Government of Punjab. The foundation stone was laid by His Excellency Sidharth Shankar Ray, then Governor of Punjab in 1989. It started with the name as Government Engineering College, Bathinda, and later got the name of Giani Zail Singh College of Engineering & Technology, Bathinda in 1992 after ex-president of India in 1992 and was made fully autonomous.
This College has been made as constituent college of Punjab Technical University in 2011 with the aim to put emphasis on Post Graduate studies and Doctoral Research. It is now with the objective to play pivotal role in producing quality technical manpower being the second campus of Punjab Technical University.
GZS PTU Campus, Bathinda has the distinction of being the oldest degree level technical education institute established by Government of Punjab with the operational control of Board of Governors headed by the Hon’ble Minister of Technical Education, Govt. of Punjab. This institution has been engaged in shaping the destiny of budding engineers ever since it came into being in the year 1989. The College has a magnificent infrastructure spread over an area of 162 acres, which has been witnessing continuous developments since last seventeen years. This College is an excellent education centre with state of-the-art laboratories, computer centre, library and workshops. The college is continuously striving hard to achieve excellence in imparting good technical education with the help of its highly qualified and dedicated faculty, which is considered to be the best in the region. The fee structure is very economical. It is Rs 50,000(INR) per semester and there is various scholarship such as you get above 70 percent marks in 12 you will get the benefit of reducing 50 percent of fees according to prime minister scheme and fee waiver scheme is also applicable as per counseling. And loans are available and the number of students having loans is less.
The fee is INR 79,000 p.a. Scholarships are available for schedule cast students. Fee weaver Kota is also available for intelligent students.
