The corporate recruitment policy stresses lot of emphasis on integrity and ethical values besides strong domain knowledge. We have created a culture and an environment for students at Durgadevi Saraf Institute of Management Studies to get groomed and developed into business ready managers that have a strong foundation in ethics and values, which is aligned to the corporate culture and need.
The students are groomed in the areas of problem solving, effective business communication and people management skills through case study based learnings, soft skills training workshops and beyond classroom initiatives. The students are sensitised to the needs of the society through CSR interventions and also knowing the dynamics of doing business in rural India through Rural Immersion.
Active industry interaction has been built into the curriculum through Summer Internship Projects, Industry visits, Annual Conclaves and Guest lecture series by industry experts to bridge the gap between theory and practice and thereby preparing the students to meet the challenges of a corporate life.
SUMMER INTERNSHIP PLACEMENTS
The purpose of summer internship is to equip students with practical industry experience. For most of the students who are fresher, the summer internship is the first industry interaction of their corporate career.
Summer internship is an integral part of our PGDM and MMS course. It is a credit subject which the students have to undergo for a period of 8 weeks (May – June). For the academic year 2013-14, we have achieved 100% summer internships.
During this period the students work on specific industry assigned projects, the scope of which is decided by the company. An academic guide from the faculty members at the institute is assigned to every student during the internship period. The academic guide, advises and monitors the student’s progress during the summer internship period. Regular feedback is sought from the reporting manager representing the organization.
