The college is located in the North Campus area of Delhi. It is well connected with roads and metro station which is just 100mts. away. The college campus is spreaded over 3-acres of land. It has air-conditioned classrooms and offices. separate hostel for both boys and girls is located inside the premise of the college. Separate bungalows for faculties and warden is also located in the campus. Computer labs, Library and Recreation centre for students is always open for access. the college hostel has 24*7 water, wifi,electricity connection. apart from that it has a separate common room for tv watching,news papers and get together parties. The college also have a auditorium with 200-seats capacity. it has a separate committee & conference rooms to entertain delegates. parents of the residents are helped in getting accommodation in the university guest house which is located nearby. The college also have separate canteen that is open between 8am-6pm everyday.

Against to the misconception about social work as charity, the institute impart academics in professional social work which is quite different from the classical social work practice. the students are here trained to work in different roles in different kinds of organizations ranging from NGOs,international organizations,entrepreneurship,CSR to govt. organizations. As a result over a period of time, the demand for socialwork academics has increased tremendously.In the current batch students from not just humanities background but also engineering,medicine,science,law,management etc are enrolled. students from prestigious graduate colleges like St. stephens,Hindu college, SRCC,Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology(NSIT),National Law University etc. are enrolled in the college. The college has a very active placement cell. The placement cell is under the supervision of field work dept. of the college. since its inception the institute has ensured the best placement for its student.since the last decade, 100% of the students got placement in national and international organization. In recent period of time, consultancy companies like KPMG have also visited the college for placement and offered a package of 6.5 lakhs to a final year student and 30000K for block placement to 2 of the previous year student of M.A social work. companies like Tata power, Levis,Hero Honda,Maruti Suzuki, Moser Baer, Taj Safari &Yamaha; recurits the students every year for its CSR related work. Apart from that national and international ngos like SoS,Pradan,Pratham,Gandhi fellowship,Teach for India Fellowship,New concept etc. the Dept also host 4-days job fair that saw maximum participation of organizations for recruitment. The dept has ensured that it entertains only those recruitment agencies that offers a package not below the standard package fixed by the placement cell of the college.

FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP

THE institute provide financial supports and scholarships for economically deprived students of the college. Although the college fee is relatively the lowest (Rs 13000/annum) as compared to other professional institutes, yet it ensures that student who cannot afford this fee should get appropriate education loans and scholarships. Apart from this, physically handicapped students get relaxation in college and hostel fee.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY

The institute offers M.A, Mphil & Phd in social work. The institute is however popular for its 2 year full time M.A in social work course. The course is unique in its curriculum and field work programme. Under this course the student is offered academic knowledge about various field of education which includes,political science,history,psychology,casework,group work,community work,quantitative research,qualitative research,human rights,laws & conventions e.tc in the final year the student has the option to choose among the elective/optional subjects apart from compulsory papers. also if they score more than 60%( sum total of 1st and 2nd semester) they have the option to opt for dissertation in the final year of their masters. The programme is particularly unique because of the field work programme. under this programme the student of previous and final year have to under go year round of compulsory field work. twice a week they have to work with an organization assigned by the institute. during these days they spend atleast 7-8 hours working with that organization and have to submit a compulsory report on the same to their dept supervisor. Each student is under the supervision of a dept. supervisor( professors or teaching assistants) who conduct regular individual and group conferences, report evaluation and relevant advises on improvement. field work is mandatory for all the students of the college. At the end of 2nd semester, student have to work for at least 45 days with an organization of their choice and this training is called as block placement. block placement carries 50 marks in the examination and a proper viva examination is conducted by externals to mark the students for their performance during the block placement. In the final year, students are taken for Rural Camp programme. Under this programme, the students spend a whole week in a rural community mostly villages in the North Indian states. For the past 2 years Rajasthan & U.P has been the destination for rural camps. post rural camp a viva session is conducted and report has to be submitted by the student for their work during the camp. Mphil and Phd scholars are exempted from field work
