Competition has become keen. so as to satisfy the ever-growing demand for quality education and accept global challenges the school has got to maintain a high standard of education. I think that in spite of getting limited resources, the school with the assistance of efficient and dedicated faculties and other supporting staff still meet the demand of the scholars who come from different strata of the society and need constant support and guidance to finally move towards excellence, from darkness to light.

With the mission of spreading education among the poor and struggling sector of the society, Barasat college started its journey within the year of 1972. The demographic pattern of the backward district North 24 Parganas was also given due weightage at the time of multinational of the school. the school has overcome an outsized a part of its basic infrastructural problems by recruiting new full-time teachers and therefore the expansion of the building in recent years.a

The Institution through young in age (established in 1972), has already got the Accreditation of the National Assessment and  Accreditation Council (NAAC) and has started playing a pivotal role in catering quality education to students hailing from the nearby localities also as from the remote villages of the North 24 Parganas district. most significantly, students from all communities, caste and creed have given this institution a very cosmopolitan character and a singular distinction.

This institution which started only with the Commerce streams now provides multi-faculty streams. Students may choose Arts, Science or  Commerce course for honors or a general degree from West Bengal State University. the school is additionally a study center of Rabindra Bharati University under the space Education Programme, which at the present offers Postgraduate courses in Bengali, English, Sanskrit, Education, Geography, Environmental Studies, History, politics, and Master in Social Work(MSW). the school is close to open M.com and M.A. in Bengali with affiliation from WBSU and M.Com.(Distance Mode) from the University of Burdwan. in just thirty-nine years of its journey, this institution has marched ahead altogether spheres and has achieved many a success. The success rate of the scholars in their respective examinations are commendable. The alumni of this school are either mostly settled in good positions within the various jobs or are well provided in their lives.

• Admission is hospitable to both male & female candidates immediately after the publication of the results of the qualifying examination of the council on the idea of notification issued by the school. the entire process of the admission is going to be executed by ‘online’. Admissions are done on the idea of admission rules framed by the school and on the idea of the merit of the scholars. Admission form, not properly filled in, shall not be considered. Admission is susceptible to cancel if false information is furnished.

Admission Transfer

For admission to the present college from another college must note the subsequent points;

• An application to the principal on a clear paper starting the rationale for transfer to the present college is to be submitted with attested photocopies of certificates & mark sheets.
• The intimation is going to be duly communicated to the candidate in due courses after clearance for admissions on transfer.
• Transfer certificate is to be obtained only on clearance for admission on transfer into this school
• The candidate must produce a transfer certificate in original at the time of admission
• The candidate must remain personally present alongside hi/her parents/guardian at the time of admission.

Re-Admission

• The students who discontinue and are unsuccessful within the University and College examination cannot claim re-admission. the choice within the matter of re-admission is going to be taken by the principal. the scholars failing within the 1st year test examination or discounting within the 1st year class could also be re-admitted within the 1st year class as per the notification of the WBSU
• Re-admission of all applicants isn't guaranteed.

Migration

• Any candidate qualifying in Higher Secondary (10+2) course from any recognized Board/Council in India aside from WB council of H.S. education and seeking admission to B.A./B.Sc./B.Com., courses during this college must produce a migration certificate at the time of admission. Similarly, a student migrating to WBSU for B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. General or Hons course from the other University are going to be required to supply a migration certificate at the time of admission. A migration fee is payable.

Admission of Foreign Students

• In addition to the migration certificate, foreign students who are duly qualified and are seeking admission into the school are going to be required to supply student visa issued by the Indian High Commission and permission from the Ministry of external affairs, the government of India, at the time of admission. The residential identity of the candidate duly certified by the acceptable police authorities must be produced at the time of admission.
