Banarsi Dass Arya Girls College on Haqiqat Road Jalandhar Cantt is one of the leading educational institutions of Jalandhar. It has many locational advantages. It is away from the din and pollution of the city. Being in proximity to the bus stands of both city and Cantt. and the Jalandhar Cantt. Railway Station, it is easily accessible to the surrounding rural and urban areas. The locale, setting and the serenity of the environment makes it an ideal educational institution. The college was founded by Arya Samaj in 1964. B.D. Arya Girls Collge as a full-fledged affiliated college came into existence in 1970. Lala Bishamber Dass, a true philanthropist a well- known businessman of Punjab and the owner of B.D.A. Steels was the founder chairman of the college. Now, under the competent Presidetship of Sh. Vinod Kumar Aggarwal and the Vice President ship of Sh. Parmod Kumar Aggarwal, the college has emerged as an operational model for value oriented education. From 1980 onwards, the college has witnessed tremendous academic and infrastructural growth and attained its present status of a postgraduate, multifaculty institution where the intellectual, physical and emotional growth of the students is fully taken care of.

Our is a leading college catering to 107 villages and possesses ten buses. We prepare the young girls to meet the global challenges. Besides academic excellence, the college encourages maximum participation of students in sports and extra co-curricular activities. Adult Education, Youth Club, NSS and NCC units of the college remain active throughout the year.

As a part of our extension service to society, the college offers a number of welfare schemes in collaboration with U.G.C. particularly to the disadvantaged and physically challenged students.


The college hostel with all modern facilities is available for 50 students. It is situated within the campus and is equipped with all modern amenities such as television sets, water coolers, electric lights, flush lavatories, recreation room, neat and hygienic mess and a spacious dining room. The Hostel Committee ensures the welfare of the boarder. Library facilities and coaching is also made available to the resident scholars.

Guidelines For Admission

• Admission to all classes will be on merit basis and first come first serve basis.
• Candidates will be required to be present in person along with the original certificates and passport size latest photograph, at the time of admission.
• They are required to fill the application form supplied with the prospectus.
• Foreign students must secure a ‘Students Visa’ and will have to produce the ‘Recognition Letter’ and 'Equivalence Certificate' issued by Association of Indian Universities, Kotla Marg, New Delhi.
• Admission to the college is made provisionally at the sole risk and responsibility of the candidate and is subject to the approval of GNDU. If approval to the admission is withheld by the competent authority for any reason, the students shall bear the whole responsibility and will not be entitled to any claim from the college.
• Is not Eligible if the lower exam of that course is from other university; she will have to fill the eligibility form.
(Except Pb./Pbi. Univ. and P.S.E.B.)

• Must apply for an Eligibility Certificate through the office within a month. For that, they will have to submit.
• Original Certificate and Detailed Marks Certificate.
• Original Migration Certificate/Eligibility Form
• Official Certificate of categories like SC/BC and Punjab Domicile.
• Eligibility fee.
• Should submit the above documents even if they have passed the lower examination from Punjab/Punjabi University
or P.S.E.B.
• Will have to submit in addition to the above documents, the Admit Card and Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended if she has passed lower examination from Bihar Secondary Education Council, Patna.
• Will have to clear the fifth subject of the group chosen within a year if passed the lower examination from National Open
School, New Delhi otherwise the provisional admission will be cancelled.
