Ananda Mohan College (AMC) is one of the leading undergraduate evening colleges in Kolkata. It is a premier engineering college in Kolkata. It belongs to the city group of colleges, run by the Brahmo samaj education society (BSES) - a registered society and educational wing of the Sadharan Brahmo Samaj - that runs seven other undergraduate colleges and a higher secondary school in the city of Kolkata. It offers undergraduate courses in pure science, bioscience, humanities, social science, and commerce with honors courses in such major subjects as Bengali, English, history, economics, and mathematics.

Ananda Mohan college admissions will be made on a provisional basis subject to the approval of the University of Calcutta. The college is proud that it has created and continues to cater to the needs of those sections of the students who cannot enroll in day colleges for a variety of reasons but nevertheless are willing to pursue the course of higher education. Ananda Mohan college humbly serves the cause of higher education. From the academic year 2006-07, the college has introduced general undergraduate courses in geography and computer science. From the academic year 2007-08, the college has also introduced a general undergraduate course in elective Hindi, in keeping with the efforts of the college to introduce new programs and curriculum for the benefit of the learners.

Ananda Mohan College admissions will be made on a provisional basis subject to the approval of the University of Calcutta.This is an evening college and students should note that classes are going to be held till 9.10 in the night. Normally the classes are held from 4-30 pm to 9.10 pm on all working days including Saturdays. However, these hours may change from time to time to suit the convenience of the college or to satisfy the requirements of the University of Calcutta. Students seeking admission are strongly advised to consider carefully whether the college hours suit them.

• The library has a vast collection of more than 22,277 books which includes old, rare books and valuable reference books. It is enriched with an excellent collection in the fields of pure science, biological science, social science, etc,
• The NCC unit of Ananda Mohan College has been active since its formation in 2005. The unit has participated in many camps at state and national level, prime ministers rally, social service campaigns.
• This college conducts community services and social orientation programs through NSS activities like promotion of voluntary blood donation, prevention of AIDS, Survey of slum area, campus cleaning, tree plantation, and environmental awareness and setting up of health awareness camp with a free health check-up facilities.
• The college has two separate newly renovated canteens of staff and students. The subsidized canteen offers varieties of the nutritious and delicious menu and safe drinking water.
• The college has two common rooms- one for girls and another for the boys. Recreational facilities are available in the common room.
• Some infrastructure facilities are available for indoor games. The boy's common room is equipped with Table Tennis Board and Caroom Board.

Ananda Mohan College Eligibility Criteria:

For Honours Course:

• A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
• 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
• However, for SC and ST candidates, 40% marks in both aggregate and the subject concerned.

For General Courses: Pass marks in last qualifying examination.

B.Com Honours: 

• Pass in Mathematics is compulsory for students applying from science stream.
• Admission will be made on the basis of the best four-plus marks in Accountancy.

Economics:

• The candidate should have passed in Mathematics with the requisite marks at the H.S Examination (10+2) conducted by West Bengal of HS Education.
• Or Its equivalent examination in Mathematics/Business Mathematics.
• Students who have passed in Business Economics include Business Mathematics in H.S.(10+2) level from W.B council of H.S Education are also eligible for the admission to the Honours course in Economics.

English: Must should be 55% in English.

Physics: A candidate must have 60% in Physics and 50% in Mathematics.

Mathematics:

•  A candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Mathematics if he/she has passed in Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination.
• A candidate who has passed Business Mathematics is not eligible for admission to Mathematics Honours course.

Chemistry: A candidate should have passed Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination.

Physiology: 

• A candidate should have passed in Physiology/Biology/Bio-Technology and chemistry in the previous qualifying examination with 60% in biology or related subject and 55% marks in English.

For B.Sc Honours and General courses pass in chemistry compulsory.

• A student from the agricultural and vocational stream are not eligible for BA general.
• Candidates who have passed HS (10+2) vocational examination in business and commerce conducted by West Bengal state council of vocational education and training are eligible to seek admission to the B.Com General Course.
• BA students are not allowed to take up 2 science subjects.

Ananda Mohan College Admission:

• Application is to be filled in and submitted online only.
• The application fee of Rs.200/- is to be paid online or offline at any branch of SBI within 2 days from the date of online submission of application.
