The Amrita School of Engineering [ASE], Bangalore was founded in the year 2002 and it is one of the four schools of engineering under the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, a private deemed university. It has a research center for the faculty and students to discover and develop new ideas and practices in the field of technology.

Amrita School of Engineering was established under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, is accredited with Grade ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council [NAAC], and All India Council for Technical Education [AICTE]. The school is committed to fair and balanced policy on the scholarship based on merit, economic needs, equal opportunity, and affirmative actions for socially backward groups. The balance achieved in terms of the disbursal of scholarship may depend on specific schools in the university. 

ASE has put in place several scholarship schemes including tuition/fee waiver (partial or full) that is granted to students based on their AEEE rank at the time of admission counseling, stipends to cover living expenses, and health benefits expenses are also provided. The amounts depend on the scheme, the academic program, location, etc. The Institute has announced Rs.3 crores worth scholarships for 300 top-ranked students.

ASE Eligibility Criteria :

All the courses offered by the institute have different eligibility criteria depending upon the type of program offered. The eligibility criteria are mentioned below :

B.Tech
  • The candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent with an aggregate of 60% in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (with not less than 55% in each of these three subjects individually).
  • Admission is on the basis of JEE Mains/AEEE/SAT scores.
M.Tech
  • The student must have completed BE/B.Tech/MCA from a recognized university. Applicant should have graduated in any of the mentioned streams, scoring a minimum of 60% aggregate.
M.Sc
  • B.Sc from a recognized university with Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics as one of the major subjects with a minimum of 60% aggregate.

ASE Admission:

The Amrita School of Engineering, Bangalore admission are based on the eligibility criteria and the entrance test in some cases. More details regarding admission are mentioned below :

B.Tech: Students are granted admission to this course on the basis of a valid score in the Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam [AEEE] held by Amrita University. JEE Mains and SAT qualified candidates are exempted from the University-conducted entrance test.

M.Tech: Students are granted admission to this course on the basis of a valid score in the Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam [AEEE] or GATE.

M.Sc: Admission is based on a candidate's marks in the bachelor’s degree.

Ph.D.: Admission is based on the written exam conducted by the University. Candidates who have qualified UGC NET, CSIR NET, GATE are directly called for the PI round.

ASE Hostel Details:

ASE Bangalore offers relevant hostel facilities to all the students. More information related to hostel facilities is mentioned below :

  • The hostel is available on a sharing basis.
  • 24/7 hrs of electricity and water are provided in the hostel.
  • ASE provides cozy and clean rooms for the students.
  • There are six hostels on the campus, two for girls and four for boys.
  • Students seeking admission to the hostel have to apply separately in the prescribed application form.
  • The hostels are under the control of the Chief Warden.
  • There is a Deputy Chief Warden, Faculty Wardens, and Resident Wardens to assist the Chief Warden.
  • Pure and wholesome vegetarian food is served in buffet style in the hostel. Mathura, Yashodha, and Devaki hostels have dining facilities for the students.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY

The classes start at 8:15 and end at 3:30 each class is one hour. There are 2 internals and 3 quizzes which make up the entire course internal score. The teachers are all qualified for M.Tech degree.


CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS

There are over 30+ clubs you can be a part of and their events are always held. The clubs are headed by the students. There are 4 main festivals sports day, Aarohan, freshers day, annual day.

  • Academic classes in Amrita School of Engineering, Bangalore starts from 8:10pm, preceded by morning prayer. There are totally 6 hours of class each day which is sometimes balanced with workshops and laboratory work. There are two breaks between two subsequent classes - the first one lasting for 20 minutes and the next one lasting for 45 minutes(lunch break).
  • The quality of teaching in Amrita School of Engineering, Bangalore is brilliant and easy to cope up with.

CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS
  • The student council in Amrita School of Engineering comprises of two wings - cultural and technical. Each of the clubs has a secretary, joint secretary, and a mentor to guide everyone. The main festivals in the campus are Onam, Ayudha Pooja, Mad Nite, Teachers Day and much more.
