Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process

PESIT Bangalore South Campus is a part of PESU and is now known as PESU ECC . It is one the best colleges in bangalore and ensures good job oppurtunities at the end of penultimate year, if you have worked well in your previous years. Well you can get this college via KCET, COMEDK or PESSAT.

I took admission through COMEDK in CSE and cutoff was 2.8k that year. Cutoff is getting tighter each year. Last year it got closed before 2K for the first round. Ensuring a rank around 1.5k can ensure you a seat in CSE.

Admissions start in July and classes commence by 2019.

There are three ways by which you can get the admission :

  • 1st is COMEDK which is for non - localites
  • 2nd one is CET which is for Localites and the
  • 3rd one is MANAGEMENT QUOTA from which anyone can take the admission.
  • One test will be conducted of 180 marks - 60 marks for MATHS , Physics nd CHEMISTRY each.
  • There is no negative marking.
  • You should come under 10k rank otherwise you have to pay the managemnet fee that is 4,00,000. For COMEDK it's 1,85,000 and for CET it's 60,000
  • And You should also have 60% in 10th and 12th both.

For every branch there is a cut-off to clear so according to your rank you will be assigned the branch .

I got the admission through COMEDK and i secured 3500 rank so i got the Computer Science branch.

As I am a Kashmiri migrant, therefore there comes a separate list for migrant Kota. The higher you rank in the list the more chances are for you to get a better college. Since this college's rank comes under 5, a student needs to score more than 110 in KCET (still not a guarantee to get this college).

Now since the college is autonomous, it holds its own exam PESSAT. and I don't know much about it as it was not at the time of my admission.

I think the eligibility criteria is the same always i.e 60/70% in boards exam and for the admission procedure they have a proper counseling session depending on your rank. The exam you need give for admission is named COMEDK UGET. Not really sure about the cutoffs now but I gave the exam in 2013 and in that year the intake stopped at around 7k rank. And from what I heard from my HoD, in my final year the intake stopped at around 2.5k rank for my branch which was ECE

KCET has mutiple rounds of online councelling ( 4 in the year 2013 ). My KCET rank was 12600 and had to wait till the 3rd extended round for getting a seat in B.E ISE in PESIT SOUTH CAMPUS ( previously called PESSE : PES School of Engineering ).

Cutoffs vary depending on the round of councelling.

Cutoffs for GM at the end of each round :
1st Round : 4500

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process
  • The admission into the college involves writing an online entrance examination called 'PESSAT'.
  • The other option of joining the college would be either by KCET or by management, although the KCET option might be removed in the coming year.
  • The cutoffs depend on the course of interest, for example, a student who wants to do a bachelor's degree in computer science is generally required to have a higher marks cutoff compared to a student who might want to pursue a course in Biotechnology.
