The BAMS 1st year syllabus consists of practical and theoretical subjects that equip the students with knowledge related to Ayurvedic Medicine and Ayurveda Itihas, Dhoshas, Embryology, etc. The BAMS syllabus is structured into four professional sections, with 4-5 subjects in each section however this may vary depending on the university or institution.

The first-year BAMS subjects focus on topics such as Padarth Vigyan Evam Ayurveda Itihas, Sanskrit, Kriya Sharir, Rachna Sharir, etc. with emphasis on ayurvedic concepts such as Ayurveda Dharshana Nirupana, Dravya Vigyaniyam, Anumanapariksha, Upamana Pramana, etc. 

In addition to the core subjects, the BAMS course also includes practical subjects such as the Study of Bone, Study of Organs, Shava Vichhedana, Study of Radiological Anatomy, etc. that enable students with hands-on experience and practical knowledge about the concepts.
