Priyam Gupta's Review on Institute of Engineering and Management

The mass recruiting companies do play the major role in placement scenarios in most of the private engineering colleges and so do in our college, but here in this college, the packages of the mass recruiters are a bit higher i.e. 5-6 lpa based on once merit and interviews. Apart from the general basis of mass recruiters to hire graduates, they do also set up certain extra rounds for some students who qualify certain examinations and their packages range from 8-10 lpa. Apart from that, the highest package of every year is around 17-20 lpa and the highest package offered was 40 lpa. The alumni network of the college is really appreciated around eastern India. Since our college was established around 30 years back, so we are having our alumni in different sectors capturing top posts and responsibilities. And apart from all these stuff, there are certain few colleges in India where ethical hackers are recruited and ours is the one, and if one really becomes a good ethical hacker, then no need to ask for placements and all.

There are two procedures of getting admission in this college. 1. Through JEEs and 2. Through Management Quotas. But since I took admission through WBJEE counselling, so don't have much knowledge about management quotas. The college takes admission through two JEEs; 1. JEE MAIN and 2. WBJEE. I took WBJEE, well the cutoffs for my branch was less than 2500. And different branches've different cut-offs.

Everything in this college is running under a well-disciplined administration. Nice and interactive way to teach and communicate with students. Well, everything is fine but, the environment around is more like school than college.

Amount keeps on increasing by 1,000/- per year. Different examinations are held to check for eligibility of scholarships. Moreover, they can also get scholarships on the basis of their academics so far or achievements in a different genre. In most of the cases loan is not needed, for example in a class of 60 students, 2 students apply for loan. And yes the availability of loan is really very easy in this college.
