Sruthi Raghavan's Review on GITAM University, Visakhapatnam

I've interned at two places, and at both places, I had a stipend of INR 6000 per month. Google, Delloite, TCSs and some of the companies that hire from campus. Avg salary is INR 3 lakhs per year. Highest salary is INR 8 lakhs per year. More than 50% of students get placed. The alumni network has been going strong for over 60 years.

There are 4 different hostels near campus. The hostel fee varies from 60-90 thousand per year. There are numerous Pg near the campus. They vary from INR 3000 to INR 9000 a month depending on requirements. Food on campus is good. There are many canteens. All canteens have subsided rates. The classrooms, labs, and workshops for architecture are well maintained. They're made accessible to students.

GITAM school of architecture has an amazing faculty. I basically just applied with my NATA score and my 12th examination marks. There is a GITAM entrance exam for B.tech. courses. The basic cutoff is 65% in 12th examinations and NATA score has to be above 100 marks.

The daily routine is good. The classes are well organized. The classrooms are well ventilated. The campus is beautifully maintained. Extracurricular activities are promoted. Quality of teaching in architecture is good. Most of the teaching is done with the help of powerpoint presentations. The overall experience of the college was very pleasant. It gave me an all-around learning experience.

My course costs INR 2lakhs per year. Not many scholarships available in my course. Loans are dependent on weather a student can or cannot pay the fees. The loans are not hard to get in many banks. Though I've never personally applied for any.

There are dance clubs, music clubs, theatre clubs, art clubs, anchoring club, NGOs and a GUSAC incubation center for students looking for help with their startups. Gusac carnival is huge. Rasika Shekar was one of the celebrities who visited. Life in college is enjoyable. The learning experience is enhanced by the huge knowledge resource center with innumerable books and interned labs.
