I've done 2 internships and 1 training program. Both internships were based on marketing while the training was about vehicle designing. The companies that come to our college include ITC INFOTECH, TCS, AMAZON, PINNACLE, WIPRO, GENPACT, etc. Average Salary since last two years is around 2-3 lakhs INR p.a. Whereas Highest Salary last year was around INR 8 lakhs INR. The total of 76% students got placed last year. Alumni network, I don't have much idea about it.
Only one boys' hostel, whereas two girls' hostel are provided. The food and wi-fi facilities are not good whereas in PGs approximately 4,500 INR is enough. The classrooms are good and well maintained, machines get very less maintenance, libraries are rich but auditorium is way too small to be called an auditorium.
JISCE takes admission on the basis of WB-JEE, that is West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam, although there are options for direct admissions on the basis of JEE-MAINS ranking. The typical cutoff for my course is INR 74,000 or higher of WB-JEE rank, I don't have any idea of JEE-MAINS cutoff.
Our classes start at 10.10 a.m and end at 5.40 p.m. We get assignment almost every week and I, myself, have done a project in second year only. Our principal has implemented new methods of teaching process called flip learning, a new and better way of education. The overall academic is good, not that great, but acceptable.
I pay a sum of INR 90,000 per year as course fee. There are several scholarships available, for everyone including outstanding performers and those from poor family background too. A huge number of students, approximately 30-40% of students are getting benifits of scholarship programs. I don't know about the loans.
The clubs exist only during 1st sem of the College, College management never looks for clubs and other fests. Thus, as a result, we don't have any cultural fest. Yes we do have technical fests, sports and international conferences. And that's a very good thing. Life here at JIS, on the whole, is good, not so bad, but I can't say its going awesome here, as It's a part of life and competitive environment is everywhere in the College, I think JIS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING is a good option to go for if anyone is interested in engineering, but has not scored that good in higher secondary.
