Placements and Internships

VESIT has a consistent placement record with over 70% of students in every stream getting placed. Till date, 48 companies comprising of core engineering, information technology, controls and finance domains have visited VESIT for recruitment primarily during SEM-7. VESIT has the option of giving an interview for other companies even if they are placed already. Students get to choose from a maximum of 2 companies in which they are selected. Companies like Diebold, Uhde India, Nomura, IVP, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, SAP Labs have continued to visit VESIT for recruiting young and talented engineers. Other companies include Petrofac, Reliance Industries Pvt Ltd, TATA Consulting Engineers, Aker Solutions, Tecnimont ICB and Toyo Engineering, Siemens Ltd. Emerson, Black and Veatch, Pyramid Engineering, Monster Instinct etc.

 

A total of 77.36% of the students were offered placements and 73.82% students got actually placed.

The stream-wise placement records for the passouts of 2015 are as follows:

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

VESIT is based in Chembur which is a north-eastern suburb of Mumbai. The campus is located in the Hashu Advani Memorial complex which also comprises VES’s other institutes catering MBA and Pharmacy degrees. The campus consists of colleges, playground, hostels, etc. VESIT has a magnificent and an appealing C-shaped building.49 state-of-the-art laboratories help students in the practical work. Library has a seating capacity of 400+ students and has 48,000+ books and E Journals to offer published by Indian and foreign authors.

Vivekanand Education Society’s Institue of Technology more popularly called as V.E.S.I.T has been a pioneer in the field of education since it’s inception in 1984. Coming under the banner of Vivekanand Education Society established way back in 1959 under the able leadership of Shri. Hashu Advani, V.E.S.I.T is today among the top 5 engineering colleges in Mumbai catering to more than 2,500 student at large. Swami Vivekanand’s teaching Arise! Awake! And stop not till the goal is reached  has been the driving force in the lives of every VESITian. VESIT is approved by The All India Council for Technical Education and is affiliated to Mumbai University.

 

VESIT has 5 streams to pursue engineering in namely Instrumentation, Electronics, Computer, Electronics and Telecommunication and Information Technology. Although VESIT is more popularly known for excellence in engineering, it also offers MCA, ME and PhD. VESIT operates in two shifts and has a total annual intake of 594 in the first shift and 180 in the second. The college offers 51% minority quota for the Sindhis. All admissions in VESIT follow the guidelines of Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra.

VESIT operates parallel with the changing times and has been adopting new and student-friendly technologies to impart education and skills. Few of the projects carried out in VESIT are as follows:

Fees and Scholarships

Being a private college VESIT expects ₹1,10,000 annually from an OPEN category student with an approximate increase of 10% every annum. Backward classes get concessions and scholarships as per the schemes and programs of the Government of India and the Maharashtra State Givernment.

VESIT also has an in-house students personality intellect creativity enhancement team known as the SPICE and tVEC (The VESIT Entrepreneurship cell) and also a social responsibility team known as SORT. A newly formed team called VESLIT (VESIT literature Labs) has played a major role in imparting deep knowledge of English in students.VPCS (VESIT Photocircle Society) has made a name for itself in a very short time.

 

  1. CSI

       The Computer Society of India is the largest association of IT professionals in India. The CSI-VESIT student chapter, awarded the Best Student   Chapter of Mumbai, has been most active student cell in VESIT for the past 9 years.

 

  1. IEEE

    IEEE-VESIT is a student chapter of IEEE with over five hundred members. It hosts a variety of events and workshops that improve analytical thinking and technical skills. IEEE-VESIT ensured that all its members learnt new skills and improved as professionals.

 

  1. ISTE

    The VESIT chapter of ISTE addresses the technical and non-technical needs of its members giving them a chance to display their talents and prove their worth in an array of enriching events conducted throughout the year.

 

  1. ISA

    ISA-VESIT organises events which aim at strengthening it’s member’s technical skills and gives them an opportunity to apply their technical knowledge in a practical way and gain some experience in the industry while doing the same.

 

SPICE

 

SPICE has been formulated to bridge the gap between the college syllabus and industry. SPICE conducts aptitude test, sessions by experts and ex-students to make students understand the aptitude level of dream companies as well as to prepare them for such placements in both aptitude and interviews. It also aides their overall personality development by giving them confidence to speak required in the corporate world via group discussions and debated. SPICE promises to fulfill the expectations of the student's peers.

 

tVEC

 

With the vision of conducting various activities to bring out the entrepreneurship skills in the students, tVEC launched its line of events such as reverse-internship crawl, tiesmashup 4.0, fire side chat, build your app 2.0.

 

SORT

SoRT believes it to be the embodient of change that we all want to see. It inspires people to become socially responsible with the right amount of dedication and faith. BE THE WINGS THE WORLD NEEDS- with this very motto in mind SoRT hopes to stay true to its essence.Few activities undertaken by SoRT are blood donation camp, a special day for special kids, SoRT week, Right to information awareness, a desire for change event, Swacchh Bharat abhiyaan, Bone marrow donation registry drive, cleanup drive at Chembur station,visit to paraplegic foundation, sanitation at Sakharegaon.

 

VESLIT

VESIT Literature Labs aims at teaching spoken English skills to students through the use of advanced software in our dedicated lab. In order to spread greater awareness among the students about the VESLit Lab and encourage students to take advantage of this facility, VESLit week was conceived.

 

VESIT Photocircle

 

With the sole intention of providing the photogaphers of VESIT a unique platform to showcase their talents, the FB page of VESIT Photocircle stands at 1941 likes and counting. An official club in VESIT since January 2015, it has conducted various events.

Fees & Scholarships : The annual college fees is around Rs. 1,09,000.  There are scholarship provisions but only to top 10 students of the college. Loans are not easy to get.

Academics & Faculty : Academics is great. Faculty is well educated and experienced. The method of teaching is very good. I personally feel this is the best college in Mumbai
