Anusha Joshi's Review on KLS Gogte Institute of Technology

I have not done any internship yet. Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Bosch, Mind tree, TCS, Mercedes Benz, and much more come for campus placement and the average salary package per year is 7 to 8 lakhs. The highest salary package this year was 14 lakhs per year. 83% of the students get placed.

There are three hostels one for boys and two for girls. One of the girl's hostel is outside the campus. The other two are inside the campus. I don't know about the hostel fee. I have no idea about PGs. We have three small canteens, one huge canteen, one ice cream parlour, one budget canteen (where everything is for INR 20/-) and two mess (where the rates are INR 40/- for full meal plate with rice unlimited) and the quality is very good. Classrooms are huge. Every classroom can accommodate 60-80 people easily. Every classroom has a projector and a screen. All the classes are camera secured. We have a very big library and we also have E-library facility. Every floor has at least three wifi connections. The infrastructure is very good.

There are two exams that have to be written and admission can be done from any one of them i.e.

1) KCET - this is a merit-based which comes directly under the government. By giving this exam and getting required rank you can take admission anywhere in Karnataka. These all are government seats. For our college, the cutoff is under 6,000 rank for computer science. It keeps varying from one branch to another every year.

2) COMEDK UGET - these are management based seats but here also there are required ranks for every college. But the cutoff difference here is pretty large. For our college, the cutoff for computer science was a rank under 20,000 and it keeps varying from branch to branch and college to college.

We have college six days a week and the timings are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The time has been equally distributed among the subjects. There is continuous evaluation going on. Every month we have seminars, Assignments, projects, mini projects etc. The quality of teaching is really good and is done with utter patience. The lectures are very passionate about their subjects and are able to give maximum knowledge to us. The overall experience is good.

The college fee from KCET is INR 69,000/-, from SNQ quota is INR 19,000/-, and from COMEDK is 1.69 lakhs. There are almost 5 scholarship schemes on the basis of which the students get the scholarship. 37% of the students get a scholarship. I have no idea about Loans.

We have a Rotaract club, Lead Social welfare club, and Cultural club which includes a Drama club, Dance club, Fashion club, Literature club, Photography club, Fine arts club, and Music club. We have this huge culture fest called Aura which is pretty famous in north Karnataka. We also have Avalanche a tech fest and every year different branches conduct this fest. The college is pretty good.
