Placements and Internships

4.5

The key companies that hire from NLU Jodhpur include Amarchand Mangaldas, Luthra, Trilegal, Khamgaon, etc. A couple of foreign law firms such as Clifford Chance and Allen and Ovary too have hired.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

5

There are a sufficient number of hostels for giving a single occupancy to everyone in college. They are spacious and made keeping in mind the needs of a college students. You can't expect luxury in the hostel but it's decent. An average meal in a day can cost anywhere between INR 150 to INR 240 . The food quality is decent. The infrastructure is very good.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

The Eligibility Criteria was completing 12th board examination through any of the recognised boards, with a minimum percentage of 45%. The entrance exam for the same is Common Law Admission Test. Typical cut-offs are variable and depend upon the level of the exam. But generally to make through any law school minimum score range has been between 85-127.

Academics and Faculty

5

The classes start from 8:30 am in the morning to 3 pm in the afternoon with an hour of lunch break. Almost all the subjects have Projects and Assignments along with The Class Assessments and Mid-Terms and End Terms which is a total of 36 tests for one Semester. This also includes compulsory Court Room Exercises and various other things. The quality and methods of teaching are good. College is quite hectic in the beginning and one would easily get stunned with a number of tests and projects one does on a Semester. Once you get adjusted to this hectic schedule, there comes a point you actually start enjoying it and with every day a new challenge you get immense satisfaction when you discover your true potential. Ups and downs are a part of life and there are bad days as well when you might screw up your scores, not be attending classes and nothing might be going in the right direction. But you have to put everything in place and work with diligence.

Fees and Scholarships

4

The course fee per year is around INR 2,50,000. The university gives a scholarship to two students on an academic year who come from the financially weak background. Apart from that, the University is recognised by the Aditya Birla Scholarship as well. Anyone who feels the need of financial assistance can get an educational loan, the ease of availability depends on the bank.

Clubs and Associations

5

There are various committees for mooting, debating, legal aid, cultural activities, internships etc. The cultural fest is NH65 and the Sports fest is Yuvardha. Both of which are biannual. The life is hectic and demands a religious approach towards everything. It makes you learn the value of time and teaches you how to manage almost everything that's coming up. You may have a presentation and a test on the same day along with classes and tests coming up, or CRE's and project submission and Mid terms. The schedule is packed. Weekends are fun as we can go and visit places around or just go outside for the sake of going and eating something nice. After a point you realise that this immense work load makes the college full of life.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Getting admission into an NLU is not an easy task. You need to write the Common Law Admission Test that is CLAT for getting a seat in a law school. The eligibility for CLAT is that the student should have passed 12th class examinations from a recognized national board, with more than 45% (general) & 40% (reserved) There are 21 national law universities (19+NLU Delhi+ NLU Shimla), For securing a seat in the top 5 NLUs you need a rank below 500, with marks ranging from 130 to 145 depending on the level of paper.
