Placements and Internships

  • I did my internship at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Trombay (Mumbai) during my third-year semester break without any stipend.
  • The companies which hire from K J Somaiya Institute of Engineering & Information Technology campus are Accenture, Infosys, LNT, TCS. There is a training of 3-4 months depending on the company you get placed in. The Accenture provides a role of Software Engineer.
  • The average salary per year is Rs. 3.3Lakhs and percentage of a batch which gets placed are around 80.
  • Alumni Network is very good at KJSIEIT.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

  • There is one hostel at KJSIEIT for students in Sion, but they may get accommodated even in the vidyavihar campus of Somaiya.
  • The hostels are good with each room comprising of 3 students and hostel fee for the year is rs. 75,000 with A.C, T.V, and sports facilities.
  • The PGs and hostel in Sion area which cost Rs. 10K per month including each and everything.
  • The food is good and is purely vegetarian. The per meal cost around Rs. 70.
  • The classrooms have adequate space and sitting capacity. Library has many books of a distinct field.
  • There is Wi-Fi provided to the students in library and canteen area.
  • The infrastructure of college is nice as it has garden and sports facilities too.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • I got admission in CAP-II round through MHTCET in Electronics and Telecommunications course at K J Somaiya Institute of Engineering & Information Technology.
  • The typical cutoff for my course for other home university students is above 85 marks.

  • The timing for college at K J Somaiya Institute of Engineering & Information Technology is that it starts at 9 am till 4:45 pm. During which there are 5 lectures and 1 practical slot for 2 hours.
  • The quality and method of teaching are good as teachers provide you with notes and sufficient data required for examinations.
  • The overall experience in college was great as there are various extra-curricular things to show your talents. There is also the Robotics group, along with various teams such CSI, IETE, IEEE, IET.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria are that you should get above than 40% in diploma. The typical cutoff is not that much for this college it's like around 70-75%.
