Placements and Internships

5

  • I am a first-year student who is undertaking industrial engineering course in CET. At present, I have not done any internships or received stipends being a first-year student who is only half way through the year. But I am aware that the m.tech students do receive stipends.
  • Many IT companies have come for placements in our college. Our college is known to be most ranked among the ones in our state. So many companies do prefer our college first in terms of placements. Amazon has placed nearly 5 students most of the times other companies like Musigma, Mahindra, wipro, oracle are some of the companies that never fail us.
  • Most placements are from the mechanical field but they also do approach us with a mechanical based job too.
  • The average salary that placements offer is Rs. 6-7lakh per year. The highest being Rs. 12lakh per annum.
  • Computer branch receives higher paid jobs. But my branch that is industrial has received 100% percent placements in the past years.
  • Our Alumni network is very active. With continuous meetings and suggestions.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4.5

  • There are 2 main hostels inside the Charotar University of Science and Technology campus one for girls and one for boys. They are given strict timings and protection.
  • The fees are very low compared to hostels outside. They pay about Rs. 3,000 monthly.
  • There are many hostels outside the campus that have only students from our college. Their fees range from Rs. 4000-5000 per month. This is inclusive of the meal.
  • The classrooms are a bit rusty but still has a good atmosphere.
  • Labs and libraries have the best quality.
  • The campus has a complete wifi provision. The main thing to be pointed out are the workshop facilities. There are many machines that are only available at our college.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • +2 with science stream was the eligibility to join Charotar University of Science and Technology.
  • KEAM is the entrance examination.
  • Admision was based on KEAM rank and no particular cut-off for a course.

Academics and Faculty

4.5

  • College timings at Charotar University of Science and Technology are from 9 am to 4 pm.
  • Being students of Kerala technical university(ktu) we have to submit assignments that are worth nearly 20 percent of our marks. Internal exams are conducted twice before each semester ends.
  • A semester comprises of 6months in the course of which we have to write 2internal exams and 1 university exam.
  • We are provided with the best teaching staff and best lab and workshop facilities.
  • My overall experience in the college has been the most pleasant one ever.
  • We have a group of helpful teachers and staff that are always ready to clear our doubts and educate us about our course. I am really happy to have selected this college for my BTech degree.

Fees and Scholarships

5

  • Being a government college the fees we pay is very low compared to the standard of education we receive. Our fees are only Rs. 8000 per year at Charotar University of Science and Technology. Any additional funds for startups and projects will be provided by the college if found to be valid.
  • A large scale of scholarships is available too. There are monthly amounts for students with a financially weak background. And for weaker sections of the society which are a huge helping hand for their further education.
  • Nearly all people who apply do receive the scholarships. That is nearly 40-50percent of the whole population on our campus do receive scholarships.
  • No loans are needed whatsoever for a degree from our college. The fees and extra amounts are manageable.

Clubs and Associations

4.5

  • There are many clubs in Charotar University of Science and Technology campus, technical and non-technical ones.
  • Main is being NSS, h2o, an environmental club for non-tech ones and IEEE, IET, EDC for tech ones.
  • All clubs are very active and have weekly sessions there are cultural clubs like literary and music club for talented writers and musicians.
  • Clubs do organise and attend many conferences with international students and professors. we have bagged many prizes for the fests attended.
  • One of the main fests includes tech fest hosted by our college. We used to have a cultural fest which is now banned due to some reasons.
  • Life in college, in general, is exciting.
