Placements and Internships

3.5

  • I had not done any internships as I had started my BE project well in advance but there will not be any stipend which will be provided and you can easily get an internship opportunity.
  • All the branches being core the most of the companies were from manufacturing domain. Some of them were L&T Construction, Blue star, Lodha, Tata consulting Engineering, UHDE India, and many more
  • The average salary figure remains at Rs 3.5 Lakhs and the highest salary figure offered in core sector was Rs 5 lakhs per annum and some software firms also visit the college like Capgemini and Cognizant.
  • Almost 80% of the batch was placed until the end of the year.
  • Alumni network is not that strong at SPCE.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

3.5

  • Hostels are there but only for out of Mumbai candidates and hostel fee is Rs 25000 per year excluding the food.
  • PGs are frequently available outside the college but are costly.
  • Food is decent in the canteen and it is available at the decent rates at SPCE.
  • Classrooms are bit old ones but have the necessary requirements like projector and college do have the required library,Labs and other facilities.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • Basically, I completed my Btech in Electrical Engineering from Sardar Patel College of Engineering(SPCE) in the year 2014.
  • The entrance examination at that time was MHT CET which was mandatory to appear for admission and at my time the minimum marks required were 160/200 in CET for getting in Electrical stream for Open category and if you are looking for Mechanical than the cut off will increase to 180+.
  • And other eligibility criteria remains same like minimum marks in SSC and HSC and others.
  • After appearing for CET exam one has to fill the CAP form by DTE and if allotted a seat will have to submit the require documents at the college.

Academics and Faculty

3

  • Normally, we use to have 4 lectures from 9am-1pm in a day and then practicals in the afternoon and two 20 marks exam and one 60 marks exam in a semester were the patterns.
  • The quality of teaching varies as per the teaching staff but on an average it was quite good at SPCE.
  • Every college has some pros and cons.
  • I think from ROI point of view the best one and from teaching point if view it is average.

Fees and Scholarships

4

  • Our time the course fee was INR 26320 per year but it was revised as the college became Autonomous.
  • The top three students can get a scholarship of Ratan Tata and others as well.
  • 5-6 students get scholarships yearly at SPCE.
  • Being the government college the fees is the lowest and can be easily affordable when compared to other colleges.

Clubs and Associations

4

  • The clubs at our time includes ROBOCON and PLACECOM and others.
  • The main festivals were SPIRIT and EESA.
  • The life is hectic and chilled at the same time. we enjoy sports but at the same time complete the projects and assignments for long hours.
