Placements and Internships

1.5

  • I have not done any internship ever since I joined NIT ,Uttrakhand.
  • The idea of companies I have till now is that all of them are mostly related to IT.
  • The average salary is 5-6 lakh. The no. of placement is increasing batch by batch.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

1.5

  • First of all the campus is temporary in Govt. Polytechnic.
  • There are 7 hostels including 1 girls hostel. The conditions of these are not well expected and can say to be as critical sometimes. Hostel fees are 18.8k including mess.
  • The other option is to leave the hostel and live on rooms for rent around the college such as various PG's. The cost is somewhat greater than a hostel.
  • The per meal cost is around Rs.70.There is only one mess in our college. The taste of every dish is almost same. The condition of mess is critical and the way the food is served is like hell.
  • The quality of classrooms are average, labs, library are fine, dining hall makes smell as hell, wi-fi works better.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • Admission criteria for admissions into National Institute of Technology, Uttrakhand, was based on JEE MAIN & Intermediate marks.
  • The Entrance Examination was JEE Mains 2015
  • There is a typical cut-off of 105 marks needed out of 360.

Academics and Faculty

3.5

  • In NIT, the class timing is 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM. While the lab timings are from 02:00 PM to 05:40 PM. Their are 2 types of project : Mini And Major which are given in 3rd & final year. For exams, their are 2 sessional and 1 end semester exam and class tests before each of the sessionals nad end sem.
  • Quality of teaching has always been really good. Some teachers are outstanding while some are just average. If you don't learn by yourself then you don't get anything.
  • The experience of all the engineering colleges are almost same.

Fees and Scholarships

2

  • For my batch (2015), the course fee is around 40k for Institue fees and 20k for the hostel.
  • We have some scholarship options like state government & from a national portal.
  • An average number of students getting scholarships is almost only 25%.
  • Yes, the loans needed is around30% students in NIT Uttrakhand.

Clubs and Associations

2

  • In NIT ,Uttrakhand, there are some student societies and clubs which can improve your technical & personality skills. But you have to make efforts to make works into the club.
  • There is techno-cultural fest which was celebrated in February as one of the major festivals on campus. While the students are not that interested in others festival except for sports meet.
  • The life in college is decent. Life flows like water in college. The four years of college spend like a second and you are definitely going to miss these days.
