The university has a department that is responsible for helping with your internships and placements called the CIR (Corporate and Industry Relations) .They are very effective. Every year for each department we have around 30-40 companies coming for placements.Most of the students are placed (mostly by mass recruiters) by the time they pass out.
IT/Computer Science -Infosys, Amazon, Zoho, Wipro, Cisco, Bosch etc. EEE/ECE/EIE - LNT, Titan, Honeywell, ELGI, BOSCH etc. Mechanical-LNT,Bosch,Elgi.. and so on are the main companies to hire interns in Amrita University.
The average salary offered by the companies are around 4 Lakhs per annum. Highest salary offered is around 20 lakhs per annum.
There are two hostels for girls and about 4 hostels for boys. The hostel fee is Rs. 15000 per annum and the mess fee is Rs. 44000 per annum (includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon and morning tea/coffee). Students are discouraged from staying outside the college hostel.
The food is clean, there are choices. Overall the mess food is good Amrita University.
Every classroom has a projector, good ventilation and can accommodate up to 80 students. The college has well-equipped labs.For aerospace -it has a low-speed wind tunnel. The libraries are well stocked with books related to the course offered in the university, journals, magazines, the university has its own digital library and has tie-ups with certain universities abroad to access their study material.Free wi-fi is available in the hostels and the academic buildings. The college has an Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis courts, gym, football ground.All hostels have their own dining halls. The campus is very picturesque, a very green campus.About 45 minutes from the city and hence pollution free.
Amrita University conducts its own entrance exam every year across the country for B.tech courses.The application is usually made available during the month of December or January. Amrita has around 3 engineering campuses across South India. One can give their preference of the place they want to study while applying for the entrance examination.
The eligibility criteria for writing the entrance exam is that you have to have 60% in 12th. For aerospace, you have to have studied Mathematics, physics, and chemistry in higher secondary.
To be called for the counselling process one should have passed the entrance examination of Amrita with a cutoff rank usually 3000 (for aerospace).Aerospace engineering is only offered in Coimbatore campus of the university.
For the first three years of your college the timing is fixed, from 8:45 in the morning till 4 in the afternoon(around 6 hours per day). For each subject, there are around 50 marks out of 100 for projects,assignments, and periodic assessment , and the rest 50 is for the end semester exams (they are conducted after every 6 months) ,the university follows a grade point system. The curriculum is par with the top technical universities in India and is updated every year.
Most of the professors are well versed in their field of study and are quite helpful. The method of teaching is okay, it does stimulate your mind and the faculty is very helpful if you have any great ideas for projects or papers.
The course fee per year is around 3 lakhs (Including the hostel fee,mess fee or bus fee ) in Amrita University.
For students who have scored more than a 90% or has an annual income less than 3 lakhs is offered scholarships up to Rs. 15000.
There are clubs for movie buffs, writers, readers, dancers, musicians, science enthusiasts, drama enthusiasts, and even an SAE club. There are student societies that conduct festivals such as Pongal, Onam, Dussera .
Every year the college conducts a tech fest,sports meet, Cultural festival in Amrita University.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Amrita University has its own entrance exam called AEEE ( Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam). And if anyone wants to join Amrita university, he/she has to attempt the exam. They will provide you with your rank based on the marks obtained. And your admission process will be purely based on the rank. As far as the Aerospace Engineering course is concerned the cutoff rank will be nearly 5000 for open category students and the students who have not finished their 10+2 grade in south India.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : Eligibility criteria are you should get 90% in Maths and Science and Pass certificate from the board of intermediate. I took AEEE exam. It is conducted by the university itself. There are no proper cutoffs. Seats are given based on rankings. Like lowest ranks will be asked to choose the branch of interest and like this proceed to high ranks until the seats are filled.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : I wrote AEEE entrance test to join Amrita. Depending upon your score you will be called for the counseling. If you get more rank you get admission easily at Amrita University.
