Placements and Internships

3.5

  • Major IT companies come here. A few core companies come too for placement.
  • Placement percentage is above 90%. And average salary is Rs 3.5 lakhs per annum approximately. Highest salary this year was Rs 24 lakhs per annum.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

1.5

  • There are 3 hostels. 1 for first-year boys, another for 2nd, 3rd and 4th-year boys. And another for girls.
  • A lot of PGs are available just outside the gate of the college, though. And for a reasonable price as well.
  • Mess food is good but veg. Hostel fees are Rs 37000 per year and mess fees is Rs 3,3000 per month. But there is no wi-fi in 1st-year hostel. No TV either.
  • College infrastructure is good (classrooms, labs and library). College infrastructure is good (classrooms, labs and library).

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • This college admits students through COMEDK and KCET entrance exam. And from MQ too. I came via COMEDK entrance exam
  • For ECE, the cutoff in 2016 was 9000.

Academics and Faculty

4

  • College timings are 8:40 am to 3:40 pm. The faculty is really good and helpful. They take monthly exams as well. Overall, they stress on academics a lot.

Fees and Scholarships

1.5

  • For COMEDK students, Fees is very high. I have to pay Rs 1.92 lakhs per year. But KCET students can avail it for much cheaper.
  • Scholarships are available for SC/ST students.

Clubs and Associations

1.5

  • A few student societies and clubs are there.
  • College fests are held once every 2 years. There are only courts for basketball(not maintained much) and badminton. No proper football/cricket grounds though.
  • Life in this college is rather boring as they stress only on academics.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria were having 50% in class 12 to appear for the COMEDK exam. I secured 7254 ranks in the COMEDK exam. After that, I had to appear for the counselling. There were 2 rounds of counselling. If anybody doesn't get the choice of college or choice of the branch they want in the first round then they can appear for the 2nd round. I got my choice of branch in electronics and communication in the 2nd round of counselling. Then I was asked to submit all the documents for the admission procedure at the college. The cutoffs vary drastically for different years papers. But to be in the first 7-8k rank is required to get ECE in RNSIT.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : I started studying at RNSIT in the year 2014 and I was admitted on the basis of my CET ranking. Once the CET counselling results were out, I got this college for computer science branch. The typical CET cutoff here for CSE is around 3k
