Placements and Internships

3.5

I have not done any internships as such in my college as they don't provide these facilities. Basically, there are few mass recruiters like Accenture, Infosys that hire from our college for basically INR 3.5 lacs package. Only CS IS students get development profiles. There is no such provision for alumni meetups as far I have seen.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4

There are 3 hostels in RNSIT (2 for boys and 1 for girls). Hostel fees currently are around INR  40k per year for accommodation and mess fees comes around INR 3500 per month. The MBA department is most engaging and good for higher studies as fas I have known. There is a students committee for food in the hostel. So, its the students who decide the menu which helps maintain good menu. Classrooms are quite spacious and most of them have projectors installed. The library is nice here and the best place to study away from chaos.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

The eligibility criteria were having 50% in class 12 to appear for the COMEDK exam. I secured 7254 ranks in the COMEDK exam. After that, I had to appear for the counselling. There were 2 rounds of counselling. If anybody doesn't get the choice of college or choice of the branch they want in the first round then they can appear for the 2nd round. I got my choice of branch in electronics and communication in the 2nd round of counselling. Then I was asked to submit all the documents for the admission procedure at the college. The cutoffs vary drastically for different years papers. But to be in the first 7-8k rank is required to get ECE in RNSIT.

Academics and Faculty

4

The classes run from morning 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The classes are of 1-hour duration. You get a short break from 10:40 am- 11:00 am and a lunch break from 1 pm to 1:40 pm. The faculty here is very good but no innovative approach is there towards engineering. The overall development depends a lot on the students as faculties will push you to focus on academics only.

Fees and Scholarships

2.5

The course fee is INR 1.66 lakh per year for the 2014-15 batch. There are scholarships if you are from H & K region students. Also, there are scholarships for local people if you have a domicile or have done your matriculation and intermediate schooling from here. You can take a loan from any outside bank as per convenience as they provide every detail in the college regarding that.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : I started studying at RNSIT in the year 2014 and I was admitted on the basis of my CET ranking. Once the CET counselling results were out, I got this college for computer science branch. The typical CET cutoff here for CSE is around 3k
