Placements and Internships

3.5

  • As a part of the course, I had to do an internship that I got via campus recruitment. I got a stipend of ₹ 10,000.
  • The placement cell was successful in getting quite a few of my batch mates with jobs. Companies such as EY, Wipro, Asian Paints, etc had come.
  • Quite a few students from the science section have gone to abroad for higher studies.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4

  • The college only has boys hostel.
  • However a number of decent PG's are available around the college.
  • The labs are maintained well but there is scope for improvement especially in maintaining devices (mainly in the Communication lab).
  • There is both Veg and Non-Veg food in the canteen.
  • There is free Wifi on the campus.
  • However, each student has his/her password and ID for that.

Academics and Faculty

4

  • The college timings are roughly from 9 to 5. However, most of the classes are done by 3:30.
  • There are some really good professors. However, if one chooses a course like BVC (now known as BA in visual arts) one needs to be proactive and expect less from the professors.
  • The English department is pretty cool and provide students with a lot of interesting perspectives.
  • There is a good share of extra-curricular activities, such as, college choir, NCC, wild-life association, Christian Student Association, AICUF, north-wast and Tibetan forum, dance groups et cetera.
  • However, the college is very strict about attendance. People have been seen repeating semester because of low attendance.
  • The culture of the college is friendly and warm.

Fees and Scholarships

4

  • The course fees ranges from ₹ 10,000 to ₹ 60,000 per year, depending on the course.
  • The college fees is is quite affordable.

Clubs and Associations

4

  • As mentioned earlier, the college has placed importance on co-curricular activities.
  • There are many fests during the year. There are inter-class talent fests, inter-college cultural fests, north-east and Tibetan students fests, food fests, blood donation camps, media seminars, Christian fests, choir fests, sports fest, et cetera.
  • The college students elect the student council members.

5 Fees
4.5 Placements

Fees & Scholarships : The course fee is Rs 20,000/year at SJC. Scholarship option is there and 50% fees reduction for students scoring an average of more than 70% and attendance more than 75%. The fee is quite less because the course is aided by the government. So, there is no need of loans.
