Placements and Internships
- I had my summer internship at GetMyUni for a stipend of INR 6,000 per month.
- Multiple companies come for our summer internships and final placements, like Infosys, CRISIL, Kotak Mahindra Bank, JP Morgan Chase & Co, etc.
- Last year's average salary was around INR 8.5 LPA CTC for the final placements, and the highest was around INR 19 LPA CTC.
- This year's placement statistics are yet to be declared because of the recruitment process delays due to pandemic. But, generally, close to 100% of the batch get placed.
- We have a dedicated student committee (kaizen) that looks after an alumni network of 15,000+ people.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are three hostel buildings inside the lush green campus - two for boys and one for girls. Hostel+electricity+mess+laundary fees vary from around INR 82,600 per year to INR 1,01,100 per year based on the facilities you opt for in the hostel (AC/non AC, attached/common washroom).
- PGs at similar rates are available around the campus, but as MBA-full time is a residential course, students (including localites) have to stay in the hostel during their course.
- All the classrooms and libraries are pleasant, well-lit and ventilated/air-conditioned. The hostels have 100 MBPS LAN connections.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The eligibility criteria is the students should have graduated or should be in the last year of graduation. In addition, they should have scored at least 75 percentile (for general category students) in the latest CAT.
- Typically, the cutoffs were around 80+ percentile when I took admission in 2020. However, in 2021, it is expected to be around 78+ percentile.
Academics and Faculty
- All my peers and I found our schedules to be very hectic. The lectures, webinars, workshops, assignments, tests, club/committee activities are hectic. The workload is probably in line with the top IIMs. And since we had all our lectures online and most of us were at home most of the times, the domestic disturbance and workload also worsened it.
- Since all of our professors are PhD degree holders and have healthy professional and teaching experiences, the course outlines and curriculum are adapted to match top tier B schools.
- Therefore, we have little to complain about the quality of content being taught.
The method of teaching is a matter of compatibility. Being on campus would have improved peer learning. But overall, it has been a satisfactory learning experience.
Fees and Scholarships
- Nirma Institute of Management, Ahmedabad Fee Structure. The course fee is about INR 5 lakhs per year, excluding hostel and mess fees.
- The scholarships available are:
- Merit scholarship - the top 30 students admitted are given INR 1 Lakh scholarship.
- Merit cum means scholarship - The first 75 students with low family incomes are given scholarships based on their incomes and merit combined. Clubs and Associations
- Honestly, we failed to live college life to the fullest because of the pandemic - but hearing from our seniors, I can say that they had a good one.
- But we still conducted our activities online this year. In addition, we have multiple clubs/committees that look over extracurriculars and holistic student development, including conducting workshops, webinars, conclaves, student activities, and many more.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The entrance was done based on CAT percentile and the personal interview conducted. The percentile has to be above 85 to be eligible for admission to the Nirma University.
