SBI PO Eligibility Criteria 2023-24: Age Limit, Qualification

SBI PO eligibility criteria 2023-24 have been released along with the official notification by the State Bank of India (SBI) on the official website i.e, sbi.co.in. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Final Year/Semester candidates must possess a graduation passing proof for a successful candidature. 

Candidates must be not less than 21 years and more than 30 years of age during the time of applying for SBI PO vacancy. There will be age relaxation ranges from 3 years to 15 years based on candidates category and sub-categories. Besides, students seeking age relaxation must possess a document proof during the time of the interview process. 

Students with India, Nepal, and Bhutan nationalities or Tibetan refugees with the intention of permanently settling in India before January 01, 1962, are eligible to apply for the post. Applicants with Indian origin who migrated to Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Burma or the East African countries like Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zaire, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Malawi with an intention to settle permanently are also eligible to apply for SBI PO posts 2023-2024.

SBI PO Eligibility Criteria 2023-24

Fulfilling SBI PO eligibility criteria is mandatory for students for a successful application for the post. Below given are the eligibility requirements for SBI PO 2023-2024 exam.

Academic Qualification

It is mandatory for students fulfil certain academic eligibility criteria with other requirements. Any candidate applying for SBI PO exam should fulfil the following given academic qualification:

  • A candidate must have a graduation degree in any of the streams such as B.A, B.Com, B.Sc, B.Tech, etc., from any university recognized by the Government of India. 
  • Candidates who are in their final semester or final year are also eligible and may apply for the exam. However, they have to produce their final mark sheet as proof of pass on or before Dec 31, 2023.
  • Aspirants doing Integrated Dual Degree (IDD Certificate) can also apply for the SBI PO 2023-24 exam, provided they have completed the course well before Dec 31, 2023. The dates mentioned on the certificate must not be a date after Dec 31, 2023.

Note: As per the framed SBI PO eligibility criteria 2023-24, the date of passing will be the date appearing on the mark-sheet or provisional certificate issued by the university/college. If the result of a particular examination is posted, then a certificate issued by the concerned authority of the University/ Institute, indicating the date on which the result was posted on the website, will be taken as the date of passing.

Age Limit 

Students must be not less than 21 years of age nor more than 30 years of age in order to qualify for SBI PO eligibility criteria 2023-24. Applicants must not be born before Apr 2, 1993 nor after Apr 1, 2002 for a successful application for SBI PO post. 

Nationality

 There is specific nationality criteria that will be eligible to apply for the SBI PO post. The eligible nationality criteria is mentioned below:

  • Citizen of India
  • A Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • A Tibetan Refugee who arrived in India before January 01, 1962, with the intention of settling permanently.
  • Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent residence in India.
  • Candidates belonging to the countries other than India must have a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Govt. of India in favour of their nationality.

Reserve Category: Age Relaxations

Reserved category candidates will get a relaxation of 3 to 15 years based on their category and sub- categories. There is a special reservation for students who belong to the reserved category (SC/ST). Those  SBI PO eligibility criteria 2023-24 are elaborately described below.

Facility for PWD Candidates

For PWD (Person with Disabilities) candidates, SBI provides certain comfort facilities which include using a scribe. Other facilities for those candidates will be discussed below.

  • They can use a registered scribe for writing. But the facility of scribe will be provided only for those candidates with more than 40% disability.
  • This assistance will be available only for those candidates with a limitation in writing, including a limitation of speed.
  • The provision of additional time is also available for them.

Conditions for a Scribe:

There are some specifications entitled by the authorities for conditions for scribe. The conditions are mentioned below.

  • All those candidates in need of a scribe must request it from the exam authorities well before the exam.
  • The undertaking form in the requirement of the scribe must be presented at the exam time.
  • All PwD candidates must arrange their own scribe at their own cost.
  • An additional time of 20 minutes per hour will be provided to all those PwD aspirants using a scribe.

Based on the category of students, the number of attempts a particular candidate can take is determined by the SBI PO exam authority. Students who generally perform well in their first attempt are those who have wide knowledge about the SBI PO Syllabus.
